Advice on a bike? Feedback and opinions are much appreciated :)

Here is the scoop,
I bought the Harley but I'm still set on picking up a sport bike..

I really have no preference in make and want some feedback/opinions from experienced riders..

- Budget of $8-13k
- New or used (If used, I want to keep the km's low)
- I like the look of naked bikes, but Im not partial either way
- I want 600cc +++ (Im 6'2" & 200lbs, so the more HP/TQ the merrier)
- RELIABILITY is Crucial
- Any features I should be looking for? (ABS etc..)
- Partial to dark colors (Black & Grey preferably but Red & Blue are ok)

What should I be looking at? Thanks in advance!

I'd have a serious look at the new 2013 ZX-6R, out of all the sport bikes I've tested and ridden, this is my favorite and if I didn't have my GSXR right now, i'd buy the Kawi.

My Review of it

it is in your upper budget range but it's worth a look

Z3german,
I test rode the stock 2013 version last week along with a stock ducati 696..
Both were very nice rides but the triumph definitely had some major "umph" over the ducati.
That camo green 06 might be a little too customized for my liking (There's nothing left for me to do lol) but its a beautiful bike.

Vexor,
Do you know if Kawi offers test rides on this? Also, is the extra $ for abs worth it?
I wonder if Kawi has any winter promos.. I don't mind waiting till the off season if I can save some $ :fullofwin:

what you want is a 2010+ Z1000.

Litre bike, so it's got lots of merry-making lbs/ft. Plus it's (mostly) naked.

I was looking at getting one of these before I bought my Striple but found it a bit too big for my 5'7.5" 145lb frame. :p

I'm not sure about test rides (it is a new bike) if you can find one used then i'm sure they'll let u test ride it. When I test rode it, it was during a demo day that kawasaki was offering to anyone that came.

As for discounts, i'd be surprised if they didn't offer any during the off season (either factory or dealership). I know that from factory Kawasaki offers around $1000 off for previous year motorcycles.

lol, of course a 696cc would have more oomph than a 600cc....

I am not reading it wrong right? He is saying the 600cc Triumph has more not the 696.

Stop trying to be a smartass.

any of the jap sport bikes would be a good option. what do you look for in a sportbike? right now based on the 2013 lineup, i'd recommend the kawi 636. I also have a friend whos contemplating on selling his R1, loaded w/ termis, cf trims, rizoma everything, pazzos, etc

Did I miss something? Ducati is 696cc and the street triple is 675cc.. When did I say it was 600cc? :failed:

I was saying the triumph had more umph in my personal experience with both test rides. :accepted:
