Honda Civic 2008 DXG Exhaust

I'm looking to see how to install this:

Ractive Fireball Style

I just want to have a loud sound like turbo car has (just for the fun of it), and yes it's a manual car that I have.

I'm just like to do DIY, and learn more about my car. Would this require welding?

I did find alternative like putting something in called faketurbo.com has, but I don't want anything sticking out of my exhaust.

I would appreciate suggestions or any alternatives.

Hey man, to do it properly you do have to weld. The old muffler has to be removed and properly measure the space for the new muffler to make sure there is no clearance or angle issues. DO NOT JUST CLAMP IT IN PLACE! Weld it. That being said, it will not sound overly nice with the R18 engine, it will turn out sounding like what we call a "fart can". I would say that if you aren't going to shell out for a decent exhaust than get even a cheap ebay catback, it will sound better than the ractive muffler alone and give a bit better power but not much. Best of luck!

if all you want is pure noise, just delete the muffler. Be warned its gonna sound like hell and make your neighbors hate you.

The muffler in the link you posted is definitely going to sound super loud, but its going to be tinny as hell. Rice is NOT good.

If you don't want to spend lots of money but want something that sounds good look into the flowmaster 60 series or DBX. they aren't loud, but they sound great. it's hard to make a Honda sound deep without making it ricey.

I have a 60 series on my Prelude, and am very impressed with the tone. I work at KMS Tools were everybody loves muscle cars and classics, and most of the people have commented that it doesn't sound like a 4 cylinder.

My friend put a DBX on his Subaru, and was very impressed.

When it comes to welding, just swapping a muffler requires welding. you could do it with clamps, but I recommend getting it welded by a shop.

If you buy a flowmaster muffler and get it welded by a shop it should cost roughly $200-250.

good luck, and hopefully this helps
