Heads Up! Parking Restrictions LIFTED for Robson, Davie and Denman I can say that I didn't see this coming....guess they want more meter revenue. VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – No more rush hour parking restrictions if you’re driving on some downtown Vancouver streets. Normally you can’t park between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Robson, Davie and Denman but that’s all changing with a pilot project. Lon Leclair with the City of Vancouver says the rules are no longer needed. They’ll also be getting rid of some parking spaces all together near intersections. “There’s about 23 fewer, and what will do, during rush hour, the traffic should move as well or similar to the way it does today. What those parking removals also do, is benefit the off-peak period.” Leclair says changes will be made as necessary especially if they find the project is causing congestion problems for TransLink. |
Vancouver city politicians just went full retard. You never go full retard |
Fuck you cars! Buy a bike! |
The removal of those curbside spaces really affect the parking availability. We've been dining in the area for a few years. Yesterday, finding parking was almost impossible. Posted via RS Mobile |
Went to a restaurant near robson/denman last night and noticed a red cover over a corner meter. I was confused. |

So they removed the rush hour restriction. Does that mean 3-6 now is rush rush hour? Because now we all get one less lane |
walking would be faster there |
Who comes up with this shit? "the traffic should move as well or similar to the way it does today" They got rid of an entire lane and expect it to move the same now? Thats like saying I took a hundred bucks out of your wallet, you should have more money now... |
wow they are really gonna fuck up the place during high-traffic hours. |
downtown is already fucked up during peak hours once they put in the bike lanes |
 How does getting rid of an extra driving lane not affect traffic? Just wait until you get a driver who's not quite sure of their skill level attempt to parallel park while traffic piles up behind them. |

But for how much it rains in this city, and even on these nice summer days the number of bikers I see riding in the bike lanes does not justify the: A) Hassle it creates for litterally EVERY other mode of city transportation B) Cost associated with these stupid retrofits all over the damn place Come fall I guarantee that the bike lanes will be empty and traffic DT is going to be worse than ever. On that note, to the retarded bikers who ride on the street, even when there is a dedicated bike lane on that particular road. You are lucky I am normally in my FX downtown, because if I was in my pickup or work truck you would not be alive any longer. I mean seriously, the city spends millions creating seperate lanes for you degenerates and you don't use it? :yuno: |
man.. I never liked going downtown... One Way, always busy, People Walk without looking, cyclist think they own the road and so busy |

Besides if you go into the health and fitness section there is a whole thread about posting your bike, with like 500 Road bikes posted. I put up a pick of my DH rig and I got failed (fuckin pricks), so obviously there are people on here who enjoy clogging up the streets for all us normal folk. |
lol but 3 o'clock is open season for tow truck drivers. I guess they'll have to go broadway now. Never really found the 3PM robson restriction made much of a difference, denman makes a huge difference though |
