Good places to donate Old Computers?

Hey all,

My company is looking to offload a whole bunch of old computers (a few hundred). I've googled and found a few organizations locally that take in old computers. Do you guys have any personal recommendations? I've found ones like Salvation Army (which I'm not crazy about), Big Brother, a cool one call Free Geek, among others.

Any that you'd recommend? We have quite a few that are BNIB, not very fast, but will work fine for people to do stuff like surf the internet, word processing, etc.

I think we'll have to donate them to a charity to get a tax write-off. Unfortunately - we're not going to be able to give them out to anyone for free. If people are interested in buying them though, I can post a CL ad - We'll probably sell them for cheap. But I've had ads posted before for a few months, and nobody emailed or called at all.

Have you tried contacting various school boards, or maybe even individual high schools directly about this? Especially for Vancouver east side schools, I'm sure they could put these old rigs to good use.

Some quick googling along these lines found the following website, and it seems to be legit:

Donate Computer Hardware to CFSBC « Computers for Schools BC

What kind of computers are you talking about here and how cheap?

I'm considering of getting one for a server/router.

thanks! I found Free Geek, but this is even better....

We'll see about selling them, we had these computers up for $150 a piece but didn't hear from anyone! I'm going to repost it at $125 and see if anyone wants one!
