Who carries this locally, emergency...

Would create the thread in other section, but it's pretty much an emergency as I need this ASAP, so I posted here, mods please lock thread after answer has been posted, thanks.

I need to know which shop locally carries these Gorilla Low Pro Valve Stems, I ordered mine online from the US and it took over a week to come, I cannot wait, and thought quickest way instead of calling each individual shop right now is to ask you guys.

this is what I need

What happened was I drove over one of those weird plastic/urethane speedbumps that are set up on the ramp of my building, where the edges of the speedbumps are at a complete 90 degree angle and are not smooth like the typical speedbump. So I went over the edge precisely in a way where the edge of the speedbump dug into the sidewall of my tire which popped it off the outer bead. I'd been really careful these last few months going over these speedbumps because I knew from the first day I saw them this was a possibility.

soon as I hit the street I realized right away steering wheel was off by and my alignment was fcked, I thought my camber kit had a loose bolt again or something, but I managed to limp the car into a lot after without damaging my rim luckily to swap for a spare. Need this fixed ASAP though

Have you tried KalTire, Lordco the usual suspects?

Speed2K 08-27-2013 04:57 PM

Wow, that Hellasucks! :lawl:

Maybe give Gorilla a call tomorrow to find out who sells them here?

Sorry, I missed the part where the valve stem gets fucked up.

IMO, get a normal, short rubber stem and install it yourself. Shouldn't be hard since the outer bead is already free. Then order new stems locally or online. When they come in, get a shop to break the outer bead again and install the new stems. Ugly for a few days, yes but it'll get the job done, now.

This is probably the best solution to get back onto the road. Buy an extra set to be sure this shit doesn't happen again :lawl:. They have those speedbumps at Central City, fortunately I'm not that low at all.

fliptuner 08-27-2013 06:32 PM

After he gets the second set, he'll have 3 extras anyways.

Gspec, don't forget to call 4x4 shops too. Wheelers run these to avoid ripping the stems off, against rocks and trees.

T4RAWR 08-27-2013 06:33 PM

those tires dont look like they're supposed to fit on those wheels

Spoiler!

fliptuner 08-28-2013 12:41 PM

Checked Lordco, Mopac, 1010, KMS and NSOR for ya, no one has it.

You're going to have to order them online and wait or go with my original suggestion.

thanks for the advice guys, I really appreciate it... double thanks Ice Boy for trying to help out so much, stand up guy bro.... and yea like you said I had to overnight part it from Japan, lol..

Should be here sometime tonight probably gonna get raped by DHL for customs charges on top of the speedy shipping i paid for, heh, I'll have this resolved tomorrow, hopefully there wasnt any damage to the tire otherwise I'll have to wait again, as nobody carries Nankangs locally in these sizes.

and T4, unbeliveably some of those hellaflush dudes actually ride as stretched as you see in those pictures where my tire popped off, it's mind boggling to me.... what happened to me was a freak thing, and it's one of the reasons I only do a mild stretch myself, all those guys in the States ride crazy, they can't even take their car on the freeway, they go over 60k and tires start poppin off wheels

lowside67 08-29-2013 10:03 AM

If your front wheel is your normal stretch, that is hardly a "mild" stretch...

Phil@rise 08-29-2013 10:07 AM

Just givin you a friendly poke as I chuckle a little but didnt you have a gripe at one time about how police seemed to target your unsafe looking car and giving it VI's because of the wheels tires fitment issue?
A speed bump knocked your tire off the bead....

Phil@rise 08-29-2013 10:14 AM

Oh I can have a set today for $20 they are Ceco not Gorilla

Phil, shit I just got home ready your msg, but i got off work tomorrow and they should be arriving then so I'll deal with it then...
and as far as my car being safe, I know what you mean as far as unsafe setups, but like I said, it may look like it but I do not have it set up like the hardcore hellaflush guys in the States to the point where you can't take the damn thing on the freeway or go past 60 or 70k. It's proven to my numerous times to be safer than the OEM wheel/tire setup I've had before, for example the other night I got completely sideways in the rain merging on Alex Fraser and I had to go almost to opposite lock to correct and straighten it out, so that's how bad out of control I was, I was able to correct easily with just one hand on the wheel which is quicker. (insert cool story bro F&F joke here)
same thing happened to me with OEM wheels, i ended up facing the bush the car locked up completely..
but for real though, I've driven my car from here to Montreal on a 4500k (ish) few years ago, and I have full confidence that nothing in this city even comes close to the things I've seen and driven over on that trip, I'm not worried about anything except now I know to completely stay away from these low curbs.
and on that I realized today that it probably wasn't the speedbump that did it, it was me riding the curb on the way outside of my parking complex after I exited the parkade, I didn't think of it at the time because I've done that numerous times before but always head on with the tires since it was one of those low curbs. The front was fine because I ran over the curb directly, but the rear tire contacted the curb perfectly to pop it off the wheel.

lowside, yea 245's up front and 285 rear's, and I'm off factory camber settings by only 1 degree in front and 2 degrees in rear. You track your car, you tell me which setup is better/safer in terms of handling and responsiveness, don't read any passive aggressive into my reply, that was straight talk cuz I know you know your shit

MODS please close thread to minimize clutter here in this Auto section, solution has been found thanks to everyones help

Please don't post stuff like this as fact... the fact that you've had the rear of your car step out sideways and once you caught it and once you didn't is hardly evidence of your setup being SAFER - that's a seriously tall tale.

I've had the tail of my race car out about a thousand times with properly matched wheels/tires...
