car bay rental with lifts?

I remember awhile ago there was a place, I think New West, there was a warehouse that has some lefts equipped that rents out for you to work on your car.. Is this place still around?

If not, is there another place, maybe in richmond?

I think that place closed down IIRC...

^^ As far as I remember it was too much of a liability.

UFixIt was the place in New Westminster if you want to see if it's still open IIRC.

Anyone find another place to rent a hoist for a few hours? I used to go to UfixIt all the time before they closed down...

^ I did a bit of research a month or so ago, doesn't look like there's anything left locally.

The guys who ran u-fix it, now part cars out of that location.

Sometimes I really miss my old shop I used to frequent in Calgary, U-Wrench. They even had tools on hand if you needed to borrow some (air lines, and impact wrenches and every tool you could think of). There was also bathrooms and vending machines if you got hungry (not that I used them, but nice to know if you need a sugar fix).

On the other side of the building, they had a full body shop where you could replace panels, do bodywork etc.

Since then I rely on my cheap mechanic for my e30. The price he charges makes it hard to justify doing it myself!

Bumping this ancient thread because of my needs. No lift is fine! Anyone please?

Just buy a ramp or get a jack, and tools

Not so easy when you want to weld your subframe, change the clutch or rear main seal... something I wouldn't mind diying myself if I had access to the right equipment lol

yea..but imp>dom didn't care about having a lift so i figured he wasn't looking to do complicated stuff

Although i've seen a friend changed out a clutch with nothing but 2 jacks and airtools

I do need a roof to work under so there's no interruption due to weather

There's a place called west coast auto lounge that rents out time on their lifts. They're on facebook.

Nice! Before I sign up, can I ask you where they are based in?
