where is a good place in the lower mainland to get my hands on a k&n typhoon?

Lordco sells them. But you will pay 3 times as much to you buying online and getting it shipped to Blaine/Pt. Roberts.

Got mine on amazon and shipped to Blaine. Got there within a couple of days with Amazon prime.
