This lack of snow has gotten ridiculous. I went up to Chilliwack Lake the other day to bomb around in the 4r and do a little hiking and there's pretty much a thin layer of ice over everything but no snow to be seen. Decided to go out to Cypress on Sunday then to do some snowshoeing with friends and I can tell you that it was a horrible failure. The upper trails seemed to be closed and many of the lower trails that were open almost all had patches of no snow at all. Awful. Spent like 2 hours just sitting around drinking at Hollyburn Lodge drinking beer instead. Not a total loss, I guess. :5shots: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...psa1b66684.jpg ... mudshoeing adventures at Cypress |

fish = 0 cold = 1, between there, going up to golden ears on the weekends, and stave last weekend...I'm left with one hoarse deep phlegmy cough hahaha |
Went out today with the intent of doing some snowshoeing but I ended up just stopping everywhere I could get some photos and did some exploring. Went down some side trails but with all the moisture in the valley it was pretty icy and being solo I didn't really want to stop and get stuck anywhere but some pictures to enjoy anyways: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps3fbd9f6e.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...psafc5222e.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps4d78b28b.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps62c931d9.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps51fc0fba.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...psa87b40c4.jpg |

The bottom three are all on Chilliwack Lake Rd at http://goo.gl/maps/n2u70 and the others are at random spots on forestry roads further out the Chilliwack River Valley, sorry, I guess I didn't actually explain today's trip very well. |
With the exception of all the dead spots in my basement suite, I haven't really gotten out of cell reception in ages so when some friends expressed an interest in getting out yesterday I hopped at the opportunity to get out. Went up Slesse Creek and threw around some lead, cooked some sausages, made some smores and generally relaxed. Pretty much perfect summer solstice. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps4c3bbdea.jpg |
went camping along the eastern shore of lillooet lake https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/...08968560_o.jpg the site is called "driftwood bay" should be accessible by any stock cuv/suv. with a stock height car you'd be able to make it but would want to drive slow on the road in. |
Yeah, I can see all the driftwood there! |
Id head out with my chainsaw every day and cut a huge stack of firewood clearing up the beach. The next day there'd be a new supply waiting lol. |
caught myself a good sized dolly while camping Spoiler! |

Gotta admit I don't think I've ever seen a YJ with a lightbar in that location before. A single row there is brilliant, light pun intended. |
I had no brackets for it, just the little stud mounts it came with... was looking for somewhere good to put it. Works great in that spot! |
that area looks awesome, gonna have to make time to head that way next summer. |
Headed out to rice lake in the rain to do some fishing. Caught 5 of these guys. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...30632011_o.jpg Light action rod made them pretty fun to catch. :fullofwin: |
That's a nice lookin' rainbow. How big? |
