So badass. I'd love to see that at a show.

I saw that episode...and its all show, no go.

badass but damn inefficient. Really shows how modern engine designs has improved so much

Gridlock 09-23-2013 09:27 PM

Even if you could make it work efficiently...straight engine power x4(which its so not) you'd be looking at a car that could never hook up properly, and would sit there and do circles.

It IS though, a very interesting engineering exercise.

this.

GT-R is so efficient that it can smoke the crap out of that thing with less than 1/2 the power.

Just curious...is that thing street legal? Will it pass VI?

Lomac 09-23-2013 10:27 PM

Just think; much like the Veyron, it's a 16.4 churning out 1200hp. Who cares if it spins it's tires at 60mph; who cares if it can't be tracked around the 'Ring; who cares if [insert excuse here]? It's some guy's backyard project that, while is based on old racing technology, is something that we should all aspire to by taking a project we're working on and think outside the box. Instead of slamming a MK2 GTI on BBS rims or doing an SR20 swap in an S13, try something different. This guy certainly did and you can tell how much he loved doing it.

I cannot think of another car that would turn more heads than seeing a car with essentially 4 engines turn up at your local meet. I'm pretty sure this would attract more attention than a veyron.

Go home Timpo, you're drunk.

Lomac 09-23-2013 11:28 PM

This is only two engines, guys...

People see 4 blowers think 4 engines.

z3german 09-24-2013 06:20 AM

:okay:

Its no fun when you can predict Timpo gonna say something about a GTR, where the old Timpo at where he posted fart gold sporadically

melloman 09-24-2013 07:38 AM

If anyone on this site can build a car with 2-perfectly sync'd motors that hauls ass down the road. I'd give them a cookie.

It's not really "a piece of cake" to slap 2 motors together and not have them essentially blow up because 1 tiny thing is running differently from the other engine.

Phil@rise 09-24-2013 09:49 AM

Its impossible to perfectly sync those engines with twin blowers on em.

kwy 09-24-2013 11:00 AM

it's basically a show car, not a model of efficiency. It's just for fun. Who cares if it won't run perfectly.

shantz 09-26-2013 08:44 PM

Saw it at the LA Roadster Show this past June. Guy who owns it just idled it around the fairgrounds. Engineering is cool, but totally show - no go.

StylinRed 09-26-2013 09:46 PM

Rat Rods always look pretty neat

brute_4s 09-27-2013 09:17 PM

this car was on counting cars on history channel... it used to only have 2 blowers and then the guy decided to try something new

Not a rat rod..in fact, it's the very opposite of a rat rod.
