Any shop to help clear interior rattles? I bought a miata NA recently and it has some interior rattles... I think mostly from the dash and side panel. Is there any shop can help to fix that? Please point me the way~! Also it'd be nice if there is a price estimate... Thanks!! :nyan: |
easy DIY if you want to do it yourself -- plus its all non-essential stuff you'll be working on so even if you screw up not the end of the world. Epoxy + Felt tape + a box of panel clips + zipties should fix most problems Can use epoxy to mend broken interior pieces Can use felt tape where two pieces contact each other to alleviate rubbing/squeeking caused by rubbing Door panel clips often break, replacing these will fix most/a lot of rattles coming from door areas Zipties to tie up random loose wires behind the interior trim to keep them from banging around But if you don't wanna DIY, most stereoshops have a ton of experience tearing interiors apart and rebuilding them |
DIY is always one of the thing I really want to do but I am so afraid of screwing things up if i do it alone... |
https://www.google.ca/search?q=miata...sm=93&ie=UTF-8 first link is a PDF file with color photos showing how to remove dash, center console, steering wheel, gauge cluster here's a forum link for door removal Replace outside mirror / remove door panel - MX-5 Miata Forum .... i dont own a miata .. I'm just really bored. |
Ya I did some research on how to remove the dash too... it seems like such a hefty job... I guess if I am doing it myself, it might take the whole winter (assuming if I can even do it right...) I am surprised that there isn't a shop for that... I would think there should be some demand out there to eliminate the rattle noise... or am I really weird? :considered: |
searching for interior/dash rattles is never a fun job. All the supplies to fix rattles are very simple...its finding the source of the rattle that can be a bitch. And if you do pull the dash, where the heck in the dash is the cause? And are you sure its a "interior trim" noise instead of a body creak? Often its a 2 man job. 1-driver 2-poor guy crawling under the dash listening. |
