help building a new gaming pc (affordable)

hi guys, I am looking towards building a new pc. I will be looking at AMD processor since they are more affordable, which one would be on par with intel's i5 or i7 processor? what motherboard socket type do I need, ram. Is it possible to build all this for under 500$? I already have video card and power supplies, I just need motherboard, processor, ram. thanks

You should probably state what equipment you already have and what resolution your monitor is. Someone can recommend a system, but your existing equipment may be inadequate for modern gaming.

ME and NCIX usually has some bundled CPU/Motherboard packages, so you dont need to worry about it...

how about some tires? $500 will get you a decent set.

You don't need i7, stick with i5
