Sooooooo W000t!

RRxtar 12-02-2013 04:56 PM

where is everyone staying this year? we stayed at Aria last year and loved it! and it was a great price too. shuttle line to Aria was always less than some of the more party oriented hotels.

Going to try a different hotel this year tho, maybe Mandalay.

nabs 12-02-2013 04:58 PM

Leaning towards Mandalay Bay.. .they have a lot of EDCesque events there as well. The pool parties and stuff too.

nabs 12-02-2013 09:05 PM

Hotel Booked! if you book through the EDC website its soooo much cheaper... plus awesome cancellation policy.

roflwaffle604 12-02-2013 09:06 PM

RS party at Mandalay Bay!! :jiggy::haha::jiggy::haha:

!YaoShi 12-03-2013 11:38 AM

Booked flamingo here.

roflwaffle604 12-03-2013 01:11 PM

Those of you who have go e I previous years, do you recommend getting the shuttle pass? Or what's the best way getting to and from the speedway?

Heard its best to pick up a shuttle pass, as it takes 2 hours to drive back after the event. Last thing you want to do is have someone drive for 2 hours after a long night of partying. Nice to be able to just rest or sleep on the bus.

tomatogunk 12-03-2013 03:19 PM

except when you leave the event there are going to be another few thousand ravers who wants to get back to the hotel. Either you leave early or miss out on the last acts or leave late. IMO shuttle pass wasn't worth it since all three days my friends and I had to cab home

!YaoShi 12-03-2013 03:55 PM

Really? Well Since I'm staying at Flamingo so technically I could take the bellagio, monte carlo, cosmo, or aria buses and walk a little bit upon arrival. I guess it depends where you staying.

!Nhan 12-03-2013 04:22 PM

gross i stayed at flamingo two years ago. never again. place fucking stinks so bad i'd rather pay more.

also i believe i am staying at vdara this year......2 floor penthouse that is...

tbh with the amount of people we have plus the rate we're getting it i'm willing to bet i'll be paying less than a lot of you for 3 nights lol

full body pat down, girls have their bras checked and guys have their area checked too. they have little rooms they take you into to strip search you if they suspect anything.

Nevada cops at every entrance too, saw them arresting people. felony down there = immediate jail.

so, drugs are bad. don't do them.

these are 2 of my posts from 2013 EDC

11pm/4:30am Sunday. walked right on/20 minute wait. 45min-1 hour ride time

Slept the whole way home all 3 days.

The only time I heard there was a wait was around 9pm friday on the way there. And obviously at 5:30am at the end of the night there was a fair bit of a wait getting home as there were so many people leaving at the same time.

Aria had one of the shorter wait lines by the looks of it but they all seemed to be moving alright. There were shuttles to 11 or 12 hotels. Each hotel had like 20+busses.

From what I heard about last year, this year was awesome. Id definitely recommend it. Granted, I never left at closing time.

Theres no way cabbing would be better than shuttling. $100 per trip x6 = $600 split 4 ways = $150.

And shuttles have priority. There was a 3 way intersection leaving EDC where the shuttle and cab route splits off from the main road. The shuttles came from one way and the cabs came from the other. The police were directing traffic and the shuttles had the right of way. The cabs all just sat there waiting. And we're talking like 200+ shuttles. And the whole thing was basically a 2 lane backroad so the cabs were stuck in the same traffic.

604DREAMER 12-04-2013 03:44 PM

Personally, I would get the EDC shuttle passes. LOL @ being designated driver after EDC ;x There seems to be only one road going in & out of the event (the lines were crazy long). At least with the EDC shuttle you get to go on a private road with no traffic. Also, you don't have to take the same shuttle stop every time. You can choose whatever stop that's closest to your hotel or that has the shortest line. On the last day we stayed til the very end & got on a bus within 30 minutes.

So excited for next year EDC. This time going VIP :P

!Nhan 12-04-2013 04:58 PM

i rented a van with my friends. travel time was 30 mins at the most, except the last day. leaving the speedway after dash set was a gong show. took about 1hr 15mins to get back to the hotel. i heard people were waiting forever for their shuttles

Mike Oxbig 12-04-2013 05:11 PM

^ wow 30min at most?

back in the OG days in 2011 and 2012 the travel time in a van was like 1.5 hr each way!
