Outdoor Car Canopy 10 X 20 FT
 

Recently purchased a convertible car, was decide to buy a car canopy 10 x 20 ft.

Have look at some shelterlogic canopy for $150 @ crappy tire, but those seems doesn't hold up against Vancouver strong wind.

Would like to see what kind of canopy do you guys have / what would u recommend?

a garage. I think canopies are stupid. Like you said, Vancouver has strong winds sometimes. You don't want it to collapse on your car.....

I've got a 10x20 costco shelter I got second hand from a family member which I park the Mazda under. It has survived 6 years of BC weather. The key is to anchor it well. I've got it set with concrete anchors into the driveway.

The crappy tire ones are junk. Way thinner frame.

I bought one of those cheap Canadian Tire canopies a few years back in order to do a turbo swap in the middle of winter, while it was snowing (don't ask, we were being masochistic and obviously had some free time on our hands :lol ). Anyway, the very first morning after we had put it up, it was picked up by the wind and blown over onto it's top. After anchoring it properly and putting some screws into each connection joint, it held up just fine. Hell, many years later and it's still holding strong. The trick is to just fix what someone else has cheaped out on.

But if you want something you don't have to worry about reinforcing, I would definitely look for something with a much heavier gauge frame. Regardless of what you go for, be sure to anchor it. Whether it's with a concrete nail or just a heavy cinder block on each corner, you don't want to run the risk of the wind catching it and having one of the legs bash up against the side of the car you're trying to protect.

Call around to a few of the local costco's. they have car canopies 10x20 I think. Around 299.99 but well worth the price. Not all costco's will carry them

Reinforce your canopy. Years back we had one and it collapsed damaging the car because of the snow. We forgot to remove the snow. After that we reinforced the canopy with some 2x2 pieces of lumber.
