	        | My tires rub, how to fix?

So I have a 1993 Acura Vigor and I just put some new tires on it. They are 225/40/18 on 18x7.5 wheels with a +40 offset. Now my car is lowered but its not extreme by any means. My front tires rub, what I can only imagine being the plastic fender well. I'm not really "tucked" so I can 't figure out why it would rub so bad when I take turns or hard stops. I see guys around town that have extreme drops, flush, and mad tuckage, do they just deal with it rubbing or is there something that they modified to stop it from doing so? Do I have to remove my fender well? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Depending on what the situation is, a fender roll and/or pull would be able to do the job.

Hmm... I didn't think that it looked like it was rubbing the fender lip... maybe i'll take a closer look. My tires are about an inch inwards of the fender arch. I'll investigate...

take the wheel off and look for wear. If it's rubbing while braking your suspension setup is probably too soft. so while braking the center of gravity shifts forward with momentum and pushes the wheel wells down onto the tires.
if it's rubbing while turning you're probably too low and the inner tire wall is rubbing on the inside of the wheel well.
are you on stock suspension?

Even though you have almost a cm of clearance, you are still rubbing. That leads me to believe that your suspension setup is too soft for that wheel clearance.
There are four things that you can do (from $->$$$):
- Fender Roll those tabs flush (not sure if it will provide you enough clearance with a soft suspension)
- Stretch skinnier tires onto those wheels (I would say a 205, but this may be frowned upon)
- Smaller Diameter wheels and/or tires
- Stiffer suspension setup
Let us know how things go.

Heres a list of what to start with. Continue down if the step doesn't fix it.
1. Take that screw out and push your fender tab up.
2. Roll fenders
3. Smaller tires
4. Cut fender liners
5. Pull fenders
6. Stiffer springs
7. New wheels
Here was my last car, and it NEVER rubbed. I miss being slammed sometimes.

It's more trouble to take the plastic retainer out than it is to just bend the tab up more.

Be careful not to dent the fender outwards by mistake.

Let us know how things go. | I'd say go with this.. A 205 tire on 7.5 isn't bad at all. Might save you some headaches in the future to just switch tires rather than messing with the fenders

A little roll and possibly removing the fender liner will fix you up.
