prevent access to data

is there a way to prevent access to a phone's (mainly android) data through usb connection.

even with password lock, my phone can be accessed through usb connection.

i encrypted my sd card, so if my sd card was to be used through a card reader on a computer or another device, the files cannot be opened.

i don't really want to encrypt my device just because, is there another way to do this?

I imagine you are hooking up by USB to charge your battery. You could just cut the two data lines within the cable. The cable is only worth a few dollars, so it's no big expense. It will be the white and green wires. The red and black wires supply 5VDC.

i'm asking so if someone steals my phone, they won't have access to my data.

not an answer to your question but if someone jacks your phone and you have cerberusapp.com installed you may be able to wipe the device if it's still on the network.

I have cerberus and integrated to the rom so even if someone factory reset, it's still installed.

But they can still turn off data, wifi, gps and browse through your shit.

this.

you cannot access any data even if you copy it off the device. it will still be encrypted.

on an SD card? still encrypted. the card must be in the device that it was encrypted on to work. same with Decrypting it. or you can format.

file names however can still be read.

i did this, but found my device slowed down a touch. not a big deal tho if you're paranoid about security.

this option should be available in settings.
