so it all started one day near the end of november when i went to renew my license, i was told i have unpaid tickets on my drivers license. The tickets were for using electronic devices while driving and failure to produce a drivers license. these 2 tickets were issued back in september, but i have not been pulled over for the past 2 years or so, so i find it weird. the licensing agent provides me with a copy of the ticket, and upon review, all the info was indeed mine and correct, but i instantly recognize the vehicle, it belongs to my cousin. since it was late and icbc was closing, they shrugged me off and told me to come back to file for a claim of impersonation. i left icbc and instantly called him and screamed at him over the phone and asked him to come talk to me right away. i asked him if he got pulled over and used my info and instantly he replied no and said it was his friend, he didnt question anything at all and sounded as if he was prepared to answer this question one day. ofcourse he delays meeting up with me right away so i told him i dont care when u r free but ur talking to me face to face today.

on my way home i remember one day he had txted me and asked me for a picture of my drivers license. i quickly look through my txt history and found those txts, and it was within 5 mins of the time written on the ticket, so that gave me a pretty damn good idea it was in fact him.

so finally he comes over and talked to me, i showed him a copy of the ticket and asked him to explain him self. his explanation was his girlfriend was driving his car and got pulled over, thus she used my info. instantly i knew this was bs cause the ticket clearly states it was a MALE driver. i didnt go on further as hes just gonna give me the run around, so i told him i will be going to the police since it was ur "exgf" so it doesnt matter she gets in shit anywas. he agrees but hints at me that his exgf's uncle back in china is some big time gangster and i shouldnt be messing with her, so he was threatening me not to go to the police. i told him, shes ur exgf, so its non of ur business now if she gets in shit, and she used MY info, so who knows what else did SHE do with MY info, in the end he agrees with me going to the police. i told him either way, im not admitting to the tickets as i will get my license suspended if i do, so there is no way she can give me the money to pay for the tickets under my name as if it was actually me driving.

the very next day i went to icbc to file for a claim of impersonation. throughout the whole day hes been txting me not to go to the police. this time his excuse was it was actually his gf's brother driving his car, and her brother was underage and did not have a license. so he begs i dont go to the police as he doesnt want to get his gf's bro in shit. knowing that he keeps on feeding me bs, i told him, ok, i will meet up with her and have her explain to me whats going on and work out a solution, at this point he says shes leaving for china tomorrow and cannot get a hold of her, i told him this is no light matter and if she doesnt want her brother to get in shit, the last thing she should worry about is going to china. ofcourse he tried to get some girl to call me with a blocked number to pretend to be his exgf and talk to me, but i told him i will not talk to her over the phone, i will ONLY meet up with her IN PERSON if she wants to clear this up. i know for a fact him and his gf ended the relationship on some very bad terms very recently so i know his exgf will not help him no matter what. he even went as far as offering me money to not go to the police...

fast forward to just a few days ago, the police finally came to find me. i chatted with the police and offered more info on whats goin on, but the police was mainly looking for him living next door but no answer. throughout the conversation, i learned that he was not suppose to be driving during the time the ticket was issued. so it was pretty clear he was suspended and drove around knowing that if he gets caught, he'll use my info. so i called him up and he answer, i hand the phone over to the officer and they meet up with him right away. that same night he finds me and tells me that he is admitting to the tickets ON BEHALF of his exgf since the police will not be able to find her as she is in china, so hes admitting it on behalf of his exgf to do me a favor because currently i am not able to renew my license and passport. i was furious... i told him as long as im not the one admitting to the tickets i dont care who does.

the next morning the officer emails me telling me that the tickets will be reissued to him and that when the officer talked to him, he sounded sincere and did not intend to use my info, as he was just scared when he got pulled over right after getting suspended. i emailed the police officer back explaining what he had told me the previous night. the officer replies back saying that he had admitted it was him driving, so hes not sure why he is still giving me a different story. the officer then talked to him and he told the officer that i am misunderstanding his explanation. the officer told me he even admitted to making up the girlfriend driving excuse yet he is still using it on me.
