Witness Needed: NORDEL Highway Entrance towards Richmond Hey there, i know this is a long shot, but I am posting this to see if anyone witnessed an accident that occurred at 12:30pm on November 22nd 2013. Here is a picture of the intersection of where it occurred https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/...99731501_n.jpg My girlfriend (Blue 350z) was driving where the Van is showed in the picture. A semi-truck was merging into her lane to get onto the highway. The truck hit her rear quarter panel, damaging the panel and her taillight. If anyone witnessed the accident, please PM me with your contact information. Thank you. Actual pictures of the damage. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...08062970_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...97032792_n.jpg |
Damn that sucks bro. I can't imagine how they would fault your GF for that anyways, someone hits you in that area ICBC will generally rule in your favour, unless you are cutting someone off... I guess they could put partial blame on her just to get as much deductible money as they can... |

yea it sucks..the driver is denying that he hit her car, and said that she drove into him! It doesn't even make any sense cuz the trucker is supposed to merge into her lane to get on the highway. It makes me furious when we pay every month for our insurance to protect us from situations like this. Right now ICBC is ruling a 50/50 case, where my gf has to pay half of her deductible, but her insurance still goes up. |
Sounds like ICBC is operating like it always has. I have mentioned this before, but that doesn't make it okay, nor is it how ICBC should operate; however, it is simply how insurance companies operate, especially given that it is still a business. ICBC will always try to blame both parties involved, atleast to some degree. That way they can get the deductible from both parties and raise their insurance prices. This method simply allows them to re-coup the most money possible from the incident. |
Good luck man, finding witnesses is such a pain in the ass :/ In the end, ICBC will still try to screw you over.. somehow.. |
as the city gets more and more congested...it may not even be worth driving a nice car anymore. |

Comes with a 2CH system, one camera forwards, one camera backwards... INB4 4CH systems start appearing. |
This is why my Dad always tell me that when you get into an accident, don't even talk to the driver first, find your witness, ask for their contact info. Or write down what actually happened, write it is the other driver's fault, make the driver sign it. Take pictures as well. |
That onramp to the bridge is a shit show at all hours of the day and even more during rush hour. People simply do not have any common sense or courtesy when it comes to driving. The simple unwritten rule of the road where you let one in and go at merges does not register for many drivers out there. For some odd reason people think that when you turn your blinker on to merge and change lanes you are trespassing onto their territory/invading their personal space. I had an incident on Nordel at the bottom of the hill once where I was able to change lanes to the right lane as the car beside me had left a large gap as soon as I turn on my blinker the car darts down like I had tried to invade her personal space and almost re-ended the cargo van infront of her. Just because you let one car in during rush hour will not affect your travel time... END RANT. |
I hardly ever see traffic yielding at that spot. I hope it works out for you. Posted via RS Mobile |
Damn yo, I had an accident right there also, fucking trucks fly in trying to merge and took out my mirror. |
i almost got hit there once too by a dump truck driver, and honked at him and the fucker flips me off after :fulloffuck: |
Used to take that turn daily, and very few trucks actually pay attention to the yield sign there. Good luck! |

http://i.imgur.com/lJtmXqV.png i see yield sign where the semi is suppose to be if you say the car is where the van is then the semi should be yielding to traffic so it would be semi fault for not yielding |
^sry but hes right, ur gf was in a yield lane, the other lane doesn't have a sign. The best you could probably do is try to talk it into a 25%/75% at this moment;suggesting that ur gf was well ahead of the truck driver and that he should have noticed her a long time ago. rear quarters usually mean 50/50 depending on the road, rear bumper is usually 100% other party. ***EDIT*** actually looking at it, your gf wont actually see the yield sign, she will see a sign stating there is a merge sign. You need to put the hammer down with the adjuster that the truck didnt yield to your gf when she has right of way and considering she was already more then 3/4 a head of the semi |
^ the accident occurred just before the yield lane (where the truck came from) ends. The driver is claiming that my gf ran into him, which wouldn't make any sense. Why would she want to switch into his lane, when she is in the right lane to go onto the highway.. but ya, i guess in situations like this, the most that could happen is 25/75. My gf is going to see a couple lawyers and see what can be done about this. |
