Underbody Wash?

I've got a vert, and have been hand washing/getting people to hand wash my car. Is there any place that can wash the underbody? I know those Petro Canada drive through ones do, but I'm not sure if I can take a vert through it? Thanks guys.

Do you mean a convertible?

Cause I have never heard anyone call it a vert...

'vert, softtop, ragtop, same, same.

I used to take mine through the car wash, occasionally. Maybe check if there's an underbody only option.

i see (and hear) it all the time almost to the point no one is saying convertible anymore... still can't used to it. too lazy to type i guess?

i've tried touchless carwashes that have an undersprayer but many charge extra for that as part of a package you buy.

if i am doing it on my own in a carwash bay i just take the pressure washer and get under there the best i can. i usually end up doing this in weather like what we are experiencing now... right now my car is covered with some kind of grey brine that i'm not sure if it's deicer or salt :(

There are not many places that offer and under car wash as it requires a lift or some form of a pit so they can get right under the car.
I know at my dealership we have a wash bay with a lift for this purpose but it is not often people want/need it.

I usually get under the car with a wand at the wash bays any time I'm there.
I will put it on the hoist and really clean it up under the car one or two times a year just to keep road grime build up to a minimum.

The spray washes at Petro do have the under sprayers but I dont think they do a very good job at cleaning anything as the pressure is very low and anything that stuck on the underside of your car is on there pretty good.

Maybe it's an American thing, since Canadians might confuse it with "green". On the370z.com it's referred quite frequently as "vert".

Thanks for all your suggestions! Maybe I just shouldn't drive it in the winter lol.

I'll check out Shine Auto. Thanks Recon.

You should be fine taking a convertible through it. I've done it before - it leaked a little through where the joins in the seals were but water wasn't pouring in. Just more like steady drips while it was being sprayed.

I also don't think the soap is good for the top, if it doesn't get washed out properly. Alkali solution will harm the cloth material if left on, no?

Different places, different wording, as long as you can understand the meaning :P

I believe Wash World in Richmond on No4 and Steveston as well as the one on Lougheed has a good and cheap $8 or $10 touchless wash that does underbody as well. It was a pretty popular option a year or two ago, I still only go to that one when I want a touchless wash done to my car.

I used to go to that place when I had a roof. My owner's manual tells me that high pressure wash is bad for the top =(.
