Graphic design

So I've been looking to redesign a new logo for my company and wondering if anyone had some recommendations on someone or a company in graphic design.

I don't need anything extravagant, I could even pay an RS user here cash who comes up with a design that I could buy.

If you want something cheap and not original or clever, you can try fiverr. $5 for a design but it's not that great...

Most of these are "inspired" by existing logos and modified to your company, but it's extremely cheap.
Fiverr: Graphics, marketing, fun, and more online services for $5

This one sounds really cool. I get to see the designs before I pay.

Local company too.

Good for the consumer, bad for the Graphic Designers who are not picked. This company is making a lot of enemies from higher priced Graphic Designers residing in western countries.

It's sites like this that designers hate.

It's just a waste of time for us designers who hold our values.

That fiverr website is insane! Talk about free market labour.

Hire the World is pretty sick. One payment and you get 50+ designs. Might use that site in the future.

It's pretty great. It lets people in developing countries make money with a skill that would otherwise have no use in their society, and without having to work in a shitty job making cheap crap for us first worlders ;)

I really don't recommend it since the work itself is pretty poor. But I understand some people just don't understand proper design and want something cheap.

Fiverr is great for people that don't value proper design skills/branding though. Once you start adding more and more options it starts to get pricey. That's when you should start looking for a proper designer.

I was just going to post that. Spec-work / crowd-sourcing devalues what actual graphic designers do - creating work that actually has strategy behind it, and is results-oriented work. Spec-work leads to a bunch of designs that are just "ok" or sometimes awful, and mainly, the relevance to your brand / target needs / etc is non-existent. My 2C that most design professionals likely feel the same about.

Feel free to PM me or checkout my work though if you want to do things the proper way: Kristian Hay on Behance

Or just feel free to educate yourselves a little bit about it: http://www.nospec.com/faq

Some people just don't have the knowledge behind the importance of branding, and that's perfectly okay. I'm always down to chat about it and shed some light on the issue.
