Goes to show that you have to be verbal, right away with your intentions. Let shit be known, ASAP. Avoid any prolonged BS confusion/friendzoning crap.

I did just that to this girl once. Met, went on a date, made my intentions 100% clear. She was cool with that, things went along, then BOOM "I'm just not in a place for a relationship right now." Told her that was fine, could have said something sooner instead of stringing me along, but thanked her for telling me, and I wished her all the best. She got confused and said we could still be friends.....nope. I don't want to just be friends with you at this point. It's an all or nothing deal, and she chose nothing. Can't cling onto girls in hopes that a situation will change. Go live your life. If they really want in, they'll call.

Don't stay friends. Just a waste of time. Trust me.

^^^ This.

Was in a relationship back in the day and my ex wanted to be friends after being in a relationship for almost 2 years. Treated her great however we were young and she started to feel maybe tied down. She was going to the states for a program and basically wanted to put our relationship on hold and maybe see other people. Told her thats basically a break up so it will be permanent as that means you do not care enough to stay in this relationship. She chose to break up. Told her its over then.

I moved on with my life and told myself there are other fishes in the sea. Met a new girl within a couple weeks which I was head over heels in love with and now happily married to. After my ex came back from the states she found out I was with someone else and tried to get back with me to which I told her it was her decision to break up which she said she regretted. Basically it meant she didnt meet anyone when she was at her program, so I said if this new relationship of mine dont work I will let you know. I have been with my wife now 12 years:fullofwin:

take this with a grain of salt, it doesn't mean she hasn't slept around, just means she didn't date someone serious.

I know for me it's always more complicated. Especially with my current situation. At the end of the day I know I gotta be more aggressive but that's not me when it comes to a relationship. And the worst part is I've tried to just dissapear but then I end up falling back down the hole. Eventually I'll get out of this trap wouldnt be my first rodeo.
