HELP WANTED : which monitor to keep? Ok...need to downsize my 2 monitors to 1. Got no more real estate for both. Primarily used for Internet browsing , email, ms office, and occasional bouts of world of Warcraft / diablo 3. The IPS is nice and bright but I think the 27" is too large to be sitting so close. HP 27BW 27" IPS IPS with LED backlight 16:9 7ms 1920x1080 60hz Gloss surface Or Samsung 2494HM 24" LCD LCD 16:9 5ms 1920x1080 60hz Matte surface Bonus: 2 x USB 2.0 ports and built in speakers, height adjustable |
Keep the 24". 1920 x 1080 is not a good resolution for a 27" screen. You need 2560x1440 to run a monitor any bigger than 24". Also I prefer a matte surface screen, its part of the reason I love my thinkpad laptop I couldn't stand glossy screens. |
IPS all day, everyday |
sell both and buy Dell UP2414Q :megusta: |
24" imo Posted via RS Mobile |
Ah the mindset of our generation. Always need to ask others for the most basic of things. Posted via RS Mobile |
Ah the mindset of our generation. Always posting what we think without thinking and shit that's irrelevant. back on topic. keep the 24". 27" sitting so close is just too much. i like to see my whole monitor. |
27" is definitely a bit too big, especially if it's sitting only a couple feet away from your face. However, the 24" isn't an IPS monitor. If you're just doing basic computer stuff, go with the smaller one, but if you plan on doing anything that requires a consistent picture, stick with the IPS. Alternatively, use the 24" on your desk and mount the 27" above it on the wall as a secondary monitor to watch movies or track stock tickers or something. |
thanks all.. I kept the 27" IPS... it'll take some time to get used to but love the fact that I can view it from any angle! fapping just went to a whole new level! |
I'd also choose 27" IPS. The colours and viewing angles are awesome. I myself have an Asus IPS screen. Yes resolution is only 1080p but it's manageable for me. |
I use a 27" for my monitor. I think it's great. 24" seems "small" IMO |
