unplanned future for this car, but still going to mod/ drive it. :megusta:

Spoiler!

The first thing I recommend is check for leaks in the trunk area.
- tail light gaskets
- seam sealer all around the trunk area (shrinks and pulls away from the panels with age)
- cracks in the corners where the roof and hatch meet
- clogged sunroof drain tubes (if you have an Si)

Next would probably be upgrade interior and dash lighting due to their age.

If you want to know what type of bulbs you need, just ask. They are different even between trim levels.

tofu1413 10-10-2014 04:00 PM

yea talked to the owner about it and hes used some bathroom sealant for those seams already!

will keep an eye on it while it rains for the next few days.

Seriously I had more fun in this pos 23 yr old car with zero electronic than the 6 figure jaguar f type I drove around for a few days:suspicious:

How is ur engine on oil leaks? Just drop pretty pennies for mine on a clutch replacement hopefully it's gonna ran for another gazillion miles lol.

Mine taillight were seal with 100 layer of duct tape lollollol

Purely 10-10-2014 05:19 PM

Tofu, you sold the 323 already?

dared3vil0 10-10-2014 05:39 PM

Tofu, when you're inevitably tired of it, let me know. Perfect winter beater.

They are faux CF look. The wheels came with those "interchangeable" spoke covers.

But I don't really care anymore because i've had those wheels since 2007 and they are now my beater winter set.

Winter beater? Bite your tongue.

The CRX is a classic, and such a nice example of one (which is becoming extremely rare) should NOT be used as a winter beater. That's what your mustang is for.

stock wheels gonna be kicking around still. will run around with HX wheels... see if the lowered rotational mass makes a difference on this thing. Ideally id like a set of 4x100 regamaster evos in 15" :megusta:

oil pan has minor leaks. I replaced the valve cover gasket yesterday..... and turns out one of the corner of the gasket split open... spewing oil. fml.

Yes, sold the 323. I posted it up for sale on BCRWD for lols and someone actually bought it and appreciates the sort of thing. Went to a good home end of the day.

The car is in okay shape. some panels dont match along with the minor rust on one corner and another hole in the quarter panel.

Unlike the most other CRXes out there, this one im making it street car. No interior stripping like the most i've seen out there. I actually hunted around craigslist for the missing rear trim pieces! God it makes a difference in the cabin while driving (especially with a leaky exhaust)

edit// im surprised by the amount of pm's on dibs on the car if I sell it........... seriously guys? LOL :troll:

It's a Honda CRX with a bunch of rust and 350,000kms we're talking about, not an NSX.

No shit it's not an NSX. But as you can see, there is still a market for these cars. They still have a dedicated following, and people still on the hunt for decent examples. 2 minor rust spots is pretty damn good for an early 90's Honda :D

I'm just happy it's in the hands of someone who appreciates it.

There are plently of other cars out there much better suited for your winter beating needs.

tofu1413 10-11-2014 10:15 AM

yeah, already talked to a few body guys on how to repair that hole... probably end up cutting the quarter and putting in a new quarter.

There's a market for every car. It just comes down to price. Not to mention a quick craigslist search turned up a bunch of cheap, clean CRX SI's.

you do realize that you drive a v6 automatic mustang right?

go back and look at the history of the crx and what its all about. tofu's is actually a clean version of the shit boxes that are usually found out there. mileage also doesn't matter as long as its been maintained properly.

its in "okay" or diplomatically speaking, "presentable" shape.

I see a parts car out there for sale, a beaten white one with a B swap and a pretty tidy stock black one for 3k.

well of course I didnt pay 3k for mine. :lawl:

This is the 5th EF CRX Si I have looked at.... and im glad I've picked it up.
