i love scoring a great deal on a Burberry shirt, only to find out 100 other old mainlanders have the same one.

Went on the website and saw a few highend stores. Thought I'd score a pair of Tods on sale. Turns out the second phase opens in fall. None of the high end brands are here yet. Save your time, NOT WORTH!

StylinRed 07-09-2015 07:28 PM

Are outlet prices that much cheaper than clearance or end of season sale prices? I don't get the frenzy

yes and they are always having 50% off sales as well

JSALES 07-09-2015 07:43 PM

I work at the airport and I was late, a lot of employees were late actually

Hondaracer 07-09-2015 07:44 PM

I always go in the states and I scored some wicked deals last weekend, $37.50 for a light spring fully waterproof columbia jacket. $70 for a pair of jordans. $45 for a columbia vest. $15 for under armour shorts. Ya this is the states but those are some of the great deals you can get and hopefully they will have the same up here.

Euro7r 07-09-2015 07:49 PM

Gonna be choked if it's like this on weekends with traffic into that area. I usually like to cruise down to Iona beach and enjoy the fresh breeze of air/go for a walk.

A lot of it is shit they don't even sell in stores. Cheap shirts with a Burberry logo, rather than an actual Burberry shirt for instance.

People think they're getting great deals, but really they are buying Walmart quality stuff and paying more because it has a name on the tag

Tapioca 07-09-2015 07:53 PM

There are a couple of interesting stores, like the J Crew outlet I'd want to check out (their outlet line is pretty close to their retail line, in my experience).

Quite frankly, I was surprised to see the lineups for Coach. I thought Mainlainders had higher aspirations?

Sunfighter 07-09-2015 07:55 PM

I ecstatic about a Nike outlet!

Man, you guys are a tough crowd. No matter what goes in there, Vancouver people are always going to think its shitty. It's just another outlet mall, nothing new everyone knows what they are getting there. Marked down, watered down brand names. I haven't been, done care to go, most likely will have to go when the wife wants to (hopefully not for a while).

Hey at least you don't have to drive most of the way to Seattle. Just be happy that people are buying stuff for our economy.

I'll stick to Richmond Center for my buying needs though.

SoNaRWaVe 07-09-2015 09:10 PM

had to work today at templeton to change out a couple money containers in the ticket vending machines. holy cluster fuck. coming in from arthur liang bridge and if you weren't in the right lane to turn right into templeton at the end of the bridge, it was GG.

so many rcmp directing traffic. you can see the whole line of cars lining up to go into the parkade, which had a sign that stated it was FULL. we drove to sea island and the OVERFLOW parkade was full. had to park in sea island to skytrain INTO templeton to do the machines.

best question i had there was, "what are these machines for? do i need to buy a ticket to go into the outlet mall? how come its $7.75?"

needless to say, this is opening day and they had 70% off sale, so i think it will die down by after next week.

Hondaracer 07-09-2015 09:22 PM

No yoga day but have 5+ RCMP officers directing traffic for fobs lining up for discounts!

same here, i drove down to take a nice walk at iona today not knowing it was the outlet grand opening. Ended up not going because of all the congestion in the area and got stuck in traffic for 2 hrs instead:rukidding:

Did anyone see the CTV video? 2:05 to 2:15. :heckno:

Canada sold out, and now many people born in Vancouver are forced out to Surrey and beyond... :heckno:

Maaaaaaaaan, that one tall blonde looked like she was going to shart her pants if one more rich asian pushed her to get a deal on a Coach bag, hahaha!!!

Akinari 07-09-2015 10:50 PM

Am I the only one who has absolutely zero interest in going even remotely close to this new outlet mall?

I mean, think about the recipe: a luxury outlet mall located in what is essentially China away from China, pretty much strategically located in the area where it is so that all the Chinese folks who would typically raid Seattle Premium Outlets and turn it into an outdoor Richmond Centre, no longer have to drive 1.5hrs to buy luxury goods, and simply need to take a stroll in their backyard for their Prada Burberry Gucci stuff?

I'm calling it right now, it's going to be a cigarette butt wasteland and someone is going to throw a cigarette butt into one of the decorative trees or bushes in the outlet and cause the entire thing to burn down.

Matsuda 07-09-2015 10:58 PM

geez, the footage of the customers trying to rush into the Coach store and the lady trying to tell them to stop. Its like footage of Americans trying to get into a Walmart on Black Friday...
