^ 0-62mph takes 5.7 seconds? with 306hp and 295lb-ft?

Acura NSX only took 4.5 seconds 0-60mph with 290hp and 224lb-ft. It's probably heavier than the Civic too.

FWD vs Mid-engined RWD. 0-60 is all about traction...

Spoiler!

So this Civic is 4 seconds faster then a turbo 997, 5 seconds faster then a F430, and 9 seconds faster then the 556hp CTS-V...:considered:

not official because it wasn't the production model but an interesting read...apparently might only differ in chassis rigidity

Quote:

Since it was a pre-production car, Honda will have to set the time again in a fully ready production car. Honda contends that the engine, suspension, drivetrain, exhaust, brakes and full aerodynamic package were in the exact same specifications as the production car. In addition, the engine tune, amount of turbo boost and air-to-fuel ratio mappings were identical to the production car as well. To offset the addition of a roll cage, Honda took out enough accessories to equal the weight of the regular Civic Type R. The reason that Honda went around the Nurburgring setting this time was simply for tire testing. Because the Honda Civic Type R was pre-production, the drivers safety was paramount above setting a fast lap time. That means that with the subtraction of the roll cage, entire chassis rigidity in the production car might not be as stiff (lower lap time.) Nevertheless, Honda is confident they can repeat, if not break this performance.

Pretty crazy. They announced power at 306hp now I think? It started at 270hp last month which was lack luster when compared to the Focus RS. Even still, the absence of an AWD system is kinda disappointing in today's hot hatch world.

Even as a honda fanboy I still cant get past that rear end...the front is so sleek while the rear end looks like something out of a prius :ohgodwhy: if they do bring this thing over the water. I would expect a complete redesign

If you guys think this is ugly wait until the Mugen version...

It's confirmed (or maybe it's april fools?)

conflicting reports...some site says it's just the 2016 Concept...some say it's the CTR
apparently it's not an April Fools gag
my guess is it's going to get a detuned Euro CTR motor ~230-250hp...surprised it wont be badged as an Acura to jack up the price.

front looks like a Chrysler/Dodge
rear looks like an updated Hyundai Tiburon

it should have a big obnoxious decal running down the hood and on the doors "HATERS GON HAYTE"

Honda Civic Type-R, Standard Hatch Models Confirmed for the U.S. I wonder whats the pricing going to be like? I mean, I highly doubt that it would surpass the accord coupe territory or the focus RS since it lacks the awd platform. I'm guessing the production type R would look more like the current coupe...1.5l turbo in other trims sounds decent, though I highly doubt we will be getting the same power ratings as the euro ctr
