Not exciting? I'd give my left nut for one of the new ones. Even over a GTR. This TT though? I find extremely boring. Love the current generation though. |

Spoiler! |
the new Boxster is pretty nice. The S with some options loaded up and a manual tranny gotta be more fun to drive than the robot GTR. |

I'd rather have a Lotus Elise for much less money. |

Damn rights. I actually like to drive. I also like Miata's, tiny british sports cars, and hell I even once wanted a Cooper S. Get out of your box. |
Just get a cayman :) |

Just depends how you look at it. Don't get me wrong, the R35 is an immensely well designed vehicle and it is fast as hell. But after driving two different ones, I still have to say that it's not exciting to drive in the slightest. There's no sensation of speed or drama or anything that would give it some sort of character. At least in a Boxster or most other sports cars, you get something to make you feel like you're actually driving the car, instead of you being driven by it. |

I am actually with Timpo on this, if you want to play that "I want to FEEL the car" game, or you want to give me the "I want a manual, I want to DRIVE the car" story. Then I say thats cool, but if you still say you are going to pick a Cockster after that I will laugh you into next year. There are countless better cars within the same bracket, and even in a much lower bracket (here's looking at you FR-S). Quote:
And furthur to that point, there is not one among us who wouldn't own a nice 510 or 240z. Whereas I don't know how many of us would willingly own this: http://www.carasports.com/wp-content...Boxster-51.jpg |

Boxster and Audi TT will both depreciate so hard every year, even worse when the new models come out because they'll be outdated. Whereas 240Z and 510 you wouldn't have to worry about that. Also 240Z and 510 are a lot lighter, more simple, there are more fun factors, moreover you can do your own maintenance and upgrades. http://www.speedhunters.com/wp-conte...-03_1Yhe_0.jpg http://alscarstuff.files.wordpress.c...0-bluebird.jpg |
it's funny how people disregard some cars just because how they might be associated with blonde trophy wives or cocky people driving them. Boxster is a very pleasant car to drive on twisty roads. it's mid engine therefore it's better balanced than a 911, yes it doesn't have a lot of power, but the amazing handling makes up for that. There's a reason Porsche is not giving Cayman and Boxster bigger engines/more power than 911. they will outperform the 911s. GTR is stupid fast. I have driven them. They will get you in trouble quickly. Quote:

I don't know how reliable or unreliable screens can be. Just think about your TV, cell phone, computer, ipod, ipad, GPS, screens are everywhere and I don't have a problem with them unless they're 20+ years old. Heck, even fighter jets and commercial aircrafts have glass cockpit, which presumably need a lot more reliable equipment than cars. (Yes, I know they tend to put analogue altimeter and ASI as well just incase, but still...) I've had some issues before when I bought some shady eBay products from China but that was that. |

Everyone has preference. I am a huge Porsche fan. But I think the boxster is incredibly ugly. :) I repeat, just get a cayman :) |
I'd prefer a cayman, but still dig the boxster as far as soft tops go. On topic of the new TT though, it seems like the only forward movement they made was on the interior. The exterior already looks dated before its even released. Also there aren't many cars that have aged as terribly as the mk1 TT so this is pretty expected I guess. |

The reason any type of car (continues to) exists is because market behaviour has determined that it fulfills particular consumer needs. We're all free to like/dislike any car, yet it seems reason is a saviour you've yet to find. Others wonder if you're trolling us, but I think you're just an ignorant buffoon who doesn't think through his statements properly before making them. |
For what it's worth, I'd take a 4C over all of the comparable cars mentioned in this thread. http://wallike.com/wp-content/upload...4C-640x400.jpg |

Different strokes for different folks. I was commenting on Timpo's post, and he automatically throws out the Boxster as a decent car and probably it's manlier more athletic twin brother the Cayman too because it's not the highest end sports car they make. You might as well never own a car if you go by his theory. There is always going to be something better. The new Boxster is gorgeous. I never liked the old one. Love the new Cayman even more. The TT has it's role too. So what if it's basically an A3 quattro with a cool body. It's still a decent car. |
lol the new tt leak thread becomes boxster cockster thread  |
