They only made them in 03-04 i believe, never seen one that is 05+

SofaKingFast 03-02-2014 05:21 PM

I'm leaning towards owning a 6mt, but the constant oil burning threads i see pop up are starting to change my mind.

On the other hand, a Gen coupe matches my 15g rwd budget.
The gen coupe would probably be healthier for my wallet in the long run right?
but still the G's purr:sweetjesus:

wonton1017 03-02-2014 05:25 PM

The projector headlights themselves are already worth the little extra on getting an 06+.
If you plan on getting a 6MT, the 06+ has the better **EDIT** rev up engine (not HR, ma bad) as well.
The 19" forged rays wheels on the 06+ are one of the nicest OEM wheels out there. If you were to buy an 05, you would be paying an extra $2500+ for just the wheels and headlights alone.

I believe only the 06+ also has keyless start, not a push start button but a twist start. Intellikey or something? The keyless door/trunk access proved its worth on a daily basis for me.

I don't want to repeat myself again but in short: you will regret it if you don't get an 06+.

Not sure how can anyone think that the pre-06 models look BETTER than the 06+ models. Mind blown...

SofaKingFast 03-02-2014 05:48 PM

Yeah after reading from the others, i am definitely going for a 06+

Just questioning 6mt vs 5at. Or settle for a TL/Gen coupe (ik 2 totally different classes:fulloffuck:)

As is always said around here; you gotta pay to play.

what car uses ALOT less gas

People think that thing Timpo posted looks good, how can you be surprised over some minor differences?

Oh and I like the pre-06 wheels better too ;)

The 06 Coupe 6MT does not have keyless start.
Only the auto has keyless start.
Neither does a G35 coupe has HR engine.
The 07+ 350Z and V36 G35 sedan has the VQ35HR engine.
Otherwise all V35 G35 has VQ35DE engine.
The VQ35HR is a much better engine tho

It has a 65L gas tank not 75L.
The 996 C2 i had before did worse with full bolt ons and not ECU (~300km).

2007 INFINITI G35 SPORT W/6-SPEED MANUAL SEDAN LEATHER

here is something strangely appealing to me.

I have owned an 03 G35 for a good half a year now and daily driving it. Very reliable machine even if a bit old school in its train of thought.... remember it's still something designed right as R34 went out and they only incrementally made it better than R34 sedan.

The up side is that the engine is really unstressed for a 3.5L to make better part of 300HP or less. The down side is that its really not a gas sipper.

I have repaired so far front wheel bearings and discarded the failing bose stereo system and put on a 2DIN deck, then a cam angle sensor failed and $60 dollars later it's all in good working order. The interior did not fall apart or rattle like others have been saying, even though my car has seen 230K km already.

V35 G35s are still in abundance on the road and that tells you a thing or two about its reliability. Because it's based on the good old Skyline architecture a lot of parts replacement are simple and straight forward. Something that cannot be said of similar vintage BMWs or Mercedes.

Kind of OT, but with that budget, why not a 350Z? Imo interior + exterior looks better than the G35, similar engine note, rwd so you can drift down sfu initial D stylez.

It's obvious
G35 = 4 seater
350Z = 2 seater

When was the last time you sat in a 350z? If you think the g35 has a bad interior, you haven't seen shit. The 350z door card consists of one large black sheet of plastic. It has an awful interior. Looks are subjective, but the g35 is grown up and timeless and the 350z is too boy racer in my opinion. Why is rwd a selling point for the 350z? Most g35s are rwd as well with the exception of the awd g35x sedan.

My bit of Google-Fu turned up a 20 gallon (75L) tank. Eh, whatever.

had a 2006 auto g35 w sport package. Definitely get 06-07 and the sport package. Great car. Miss it. Was written off unfortunately. No major issues other than radio/cd player dieing on me which will happen. regular oil changed and maintenance. Brakes wear out quick and tires but nothing major. I still look on autotrader for used ones in case I ever need a second car which I don't.......I shed a tear whenever I see a black one drive past me. Miss that exhaust tone....

05 coupe here
i got the AT cuz im just too lazy

as posted above, insurance not the best, gas milage not the best, i get about 450km or so

i would aim for 06 or above as well, the projector headlights are so much better, rear wing dont care about it too much

mine has the sport package so i have the 19in wheels as well and well as limited slip diff (i think)

mechanical not too bad, nothing major, driver door window motor went, now the power lock on driver door is down, gotta use a key. havent had radio/climate go yet *knock on wood*

trunk space isnt too bad, its just teh opening is small so its hard to put shit in, but i can stuff my hockey bag in no problem, i can also fit my road bike in it as long as i take out the front wheel and put down the back seat.

the sound is the bomb tho. and for some reason i really love the 07 and prior exterior but yes the interior can be better. it'll be perfect if i can have the 08+ interior with the 06/07 exterior. and did i mention dat stock exhaust note?

hk20000 03-12-2014 10:22 PM

If you go sedan I got three words for you that will make you think about 03-05:

reclinable rear seat.

Best feature ever.

gilly 03-13-2014 10:02 AM

My buddy of mine is selling one..
Black 2003 Infinti G35 Coupe Manual

From what he told me, gas mileage isnt the best.... but the exhaust tone is sooo nice! I always wanted one to be honest.
