Where do you people get such cool license plates?

Seriously.

Saw a white Civic with 'xxx JDM' the other day, saw a silver Impreza with 'xxx WRX' once too. Civics with 'SIR' in their plate tag, even saw an FRS with, yep, you guessed it... 'xxx FRS'.

See Porsches all the time with their model designation as the numbers (i.e 996 XXX' or 'XXX 997') etc. Most have Weissach or MCL plate holders too, maybe it's a high-end dealership thing?

Wondering what the secret code is to get a cool plate that reflects your car. Because I need an '086 GTS' :suspicious:

You clearly never saw any SIR plates, because I is not used in LP's in BC...

Unless it was a vanity plate, in which case if you had to come in here and ask how he got it then ...:rukidding:

:fullofwin:

The thread posted above, word of mouth, or just call around and ask autoplan places.

i hear some of the dealer insurance guys get first picks for numbers like those. so at bmw you see 335 xxx, 328 xxx, etc

"GTS" belongs in the 12th series which was released back in 2008 so it has been issued already.

you have to go ask around. unless you make a personalized plate for $100 for the first year. and $40 each year to keep the name.

trollface 03-10-2014 06:41 AM

I have 086 on my FRS as well.

ancient_510 03-10-2014 08:42 AM

I've got 510 xxx on my 510

It seems that numbers are easy but letters are the real challenge.
Assuming a typical Autoplan broker has 15 plates in stock, that is only 66 phone calls you would have to make; not assuming "chain" brokers that can look up what plates their other branches have.

I'm rocking 234LBS that I got back in 2010. Never going to let it go.

Brokers don't have access to what other brokers have. Some agency's will only issue plates sequentially, some will let you choose from the open box and some will bend the rules a little more for good clients from what I've heard. But yes, agents tend to get first go at the good plates. That's how I got such a good one. :P
