I'll be at the game and I love that we have Major League Soccer in this city. It's a great atmosphere and a lot of fun to take people to games. That said, the Whitecaps had a nightmare offseason. I am a TFC fan so I might be a bit biased. The Whitecaps roster is studded with questions. Let's see how it goes. I'll also be in Seattle for the TFC-Sounders opener next week. |

75 minutes into the season and I'd say we're off to a great start. Should be a good year if we can keep everybody healthy. |
Does Morales have vision or what! Holy fuck we've got a midfielder now. |
Good game great start. Teams looks legit now with morales Posted via RS Mobile |
Anyone have a source online to watch the reply of the game! |
Told ya guys!! Camilo who!? How bout that snipe by Fernandez!? |
Here's full highlights: Here are 3 of our 4 goals (can't seem to find the Fernandez one yet for some reason): |
Any one else fortunate enough to sit next to the biker gang in 202? We went with a large group but our tickets were split up and all around us were Italian guys in club sweaters and I'm guessing their younger members in denim jackets with patches lol..felt uneasy at times Posted via RS Mobile |

Newcomers Fernandez and Morales both nominated for 'MLS Goal of the Week'!!! I vote Fernandez...what you guys think? Vote Whitecaps FC South American debutants for MLS Goal of the Week | Vancouver Whitecaps FC lol or you can 'Vote for Pedro' |
CANUCKS SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS |
Ya don't say... |
Sunday's game against Chivas should be interesting. Coaches around the league are probably watching film from the NY game and trying to figure out the midfield. Chivas doesn't play much D, but they have a good midfield with Rosales and Torres. Morales may start, so I'm looking forward to seeing him play the majority of the game. Posted via RS Mobile |
I have big expectations from Manneh this year too...I feel he should be starting over Mattocks tbh....Hopefully his playing time increases as the season progresses. Looking forward to the game this Sunday. |
The club should build up Mattocks just enough so that they can trade or sell him to another team. Mattocks has pace, but his football sense is limited and he can't seem to finish with the regularity that a striker needs. Manneh has far more potential than Mattocks. Pace, football sense, and a willingness to learn. He's confident, but not in an arrogant way like Mattocks. Posted via RS Mobile |
Manneh is more of a winger. Mattocks is seen as our go to striker once Miller leaves. |
If Morales starts, who does he replace? |
mattocks out, Miller in. They pushed Miller up when mattocks went off because Miller was playing the #9 attacking mid role. Posted via RS Mobile |
I would personally take Mattocks out, put Manneh up front, and maybe take Laba out and put Morales in for him. |
Manneh needs more pro playing time and I don't think his game right now suits him as a lone striker. Also Robinson is sticking with his 4231 and not switching it up every game like Rennie did last year (that was a mistake) plus laba allows reo Coker to push up and get involved, which worked on the morales goal. It'll be interesting to see later on when the caps go on a goalless drought and how they adjust. Posted via RS Mobile |

I think Laba and Reo C. in that defensive midfield role is going to be awesome, but it makes me worried that Koffie could get pushed out :( |
Laba> Koffie IMO. Reo C.'s replacement when he leaves for more money next season. On the bright side, we have a really good sub who can drop right in and do work. Rennie and his varying formations each week was infuriating to watch because players wouldn't be able to get comfortable in a system. Add the lack of a midfield spark and it's a recipe for failure. The only reason we even had a sniff of the playoffs last year was because of Camilo. |
