Skytrain Main Street–Science World Station Upgrades

http://www.translink.ca/en/Plans-and...s/OnTrack.aspx
Train2Main: Shuttle Operations for Main Street–Science World
What's happening: Due to construction at the platform level of Main Street–Science World, SkyTrain will operate a special two-car train, Train2Main, to get customers to and from the station. The use of smaller trains will allow the station to remain open during this phase of construction without compromising the safety of passengers.

When: March 30, 2014 to fall 2014

Service impact:

Train2Main will provide service to and from Main Street–Science World from the following stations:
Waterfront
Burrard
Granville
Stadium–Chinatown
Commercial–Broadway
Regular four-car Expo and Millennium Line trains will not stop at Main Street–Science World, but will otherwise operate normally, stopping at all other stations.
Passengers travelling to Main Street–Science World from the east must transfer at Commercial–Broadway to the Train2Main shuttle.
Passengers travelling to Main Street–Science World from downtown Vancouver must use the Train2Main shuttle.
Train2Main will run every 10-12 minutes and will operate for approximately six months.
Passengers using Train2Main should allow up to 10 minutes of extra travel time.

Lol this is going to be chaos starting next Monday. Even with the long Skytrains there are always delays.

Why not have bus instead. THis will confuse a ton of people and is going to be more than 10mins dealys. Most likely 45mins and 1hour.

From what I gather everyone going to downtown will get off at Boardway and then wait for these smaller trains that will come every 10 to 12mins that take you to downtown. Not a good idea at all. Is already pack in the mornings. I expected at least 45min to 1hour delay......

If you need to go to Main/Science World station then you need to get off the regular train and get onto a 2 car train, as those are the only ones that will stop at Main station. All other trains will pass through Main Station but will not stop there to drop off or pick up. Only going to be a pain in the @ss for those who need to get off at that station.

^^ people at boardway is just going to rush in when they see a train not knowing this.... And is translink, I do not believe that they are going to get this right..... most likely a lot of delays.

It isn't rocket science.

If you want go to Main, wait for a 2 car train, otherwise business like usual

as long as people know how to read and listen, all will be swell. im pretty sure when the train arrives, it will announce train2main. and the trains that have the LED boards will display train2main.
