Alpine SEC-8028 No Longer Chirping I'm not savvy with car electronics/alarms, but I have an Alpine SEC-8028 and the alarm was functioning no problem. i let my car sit for a couple weeks and so i took the battery was weak took it to charge it. when I hooked it back up it was chirping non-stop so I disconnected it, reconnected it and i figured all is good. I may have pushed a few buttons on my remote by accident when trying to get the alarm to stop chirping pic of style of remote http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMD...S-o17/$_35.JPG i have a feeling it's in some sort of valet mode, as now it doesn't chirp when arm/disarm, just lock/unlock with lights flashing once. on top of that it now auto locks the doors when i start the car, and auto unlocks the doors when i turn it off. any idea how to get it to stop auto lock/unlock and get the chirp back when i lock the doors? i read the manual and it didn't help me much TIA |
Hold the valet button on the remote (top right) for 2 seconds. That should get it out of valet mode. |
thanks. i tried it but it didn't appear to fix it. funny thing is though i tried the panic button and the siren still chirps in this mode so i must be stuck in another mode (or i'm getting in/out of valet mode incorrectly) |
I think I somehow got in to the factory settings and while pressing the remote altered some of the factory defaults. I think I need to figure out how to get in to program mode Posted via RS Mobile |
anyone have an idea how to get in to factory default setting/programming? hopefully with just using the remote? |
