Get the tsx, 4 banger will save you money.

The TSX is only 1 MPG better overall than the IS250.

Compare Side-by-Side

Having leased an IS250 (2006) with a manual transmission the vehicle is a great daily driver. Although the manual transmission isn't S2000 (or even TSX) smooth, the car was comfortable and required minimal maintenance.

Some issues I found with the car through ownership; Back seat is cramped especially if you have more than four passengers. As stated by others the engine is quite gutless throughout the rev-range, sure its smooth but it didn't provide much excitement. The steering is very light therefore very little feedback is provided. Gas mileage is decent. It's a V6 so at the end of the day it's definitely going to require premium graded fuel.

Other than that I really had no additional complaints. Great looking car that will be an excellent daily driver.

My advice would be to test drive both vehicles and go from there.

After reading more about the carbon buildup issue on the IS it seems like a pretty big issue. What's the consequences of this? Would it be easy for a mechanic to check for this?
