Help with leaky roof please? OK, so this house was bought house 5 years ago. -The previous owner had a white metal sundeck roof installed. (These are made to be exterior types of roofs.) -Then he decides to enclose the deck with walls so that it can be a bedroom or whatever. Now since my parents bought the house they noticed a lot of moisture dripping through the T-bar ceiling under the metal roof. -Some people recommended spray foam because of condensation. -We spray foamed and that got rid of any condensation HOWEVER -Right at the transition between house roof to metal roof in this corner pictured above we get a massive leak I can't see where the hole is. (I tried to spray it with roof seal last year, but maybe didn't do enough?) Could someone either give me advice on what to do or who to call? Should I get a bucket of roof patch tar from home depot or should I get a pro? I don't know what to do because this whole roof is not made for what it's doing right now. http://i.imgur.com/O3lVL8E.jpg |
Can you post up some detailed pics? Sometimes it's an easy fix Posted via RS Mobile |
It looks like where the joist between the metal and the singles isnt overlapping enough, so in certain conditions (rain blowing into it) its seeping through. You might need to extend it.. Now I am no expert, but Ive gotten a lot of flashing work down on my house. Might be worth talking to a roofer. I can give you a family friends info who does it if you want? |
