Where to buy a bicycle under $200

Hey everyone,

Summer is coming up and I wanted to get a bike for the sea wall and to ride around the city.

My budget is $200 max. I was wondering where you guys would recommend to buy a bicycle and if you had any suggestions? I am okay with a used bike, but I don't really know where to start.

I rather get a quality used bike for $200 vs. a new cheap bike at canadian tire.

I buy tons of bikes from craigslist, if you look on craigslist you'll find some really good deals. Good luck :D

Any tips on what to look for? Specific brands? I see a lot of what seems like generic fixies and I'm a bit skeptical on dropping a couple hundred on something that might not be great quality. Thanks!

I usually only buy Norco, Kona, Specialized, there’s others but those are the main ones. Search up the bike on Google, and check out some reviews. I almost forgot, check out pinkbike.com too. :)

If u do buy a bike from Craigslist, just make sure it's not stolen. Not to say everyone on there is a criminal hah. But if it's too good to be true, it probably is stolen

Funny thing, a few years ago i was looking for a bike to ride around town. Bought it used for $100, it was an oldschool vintage roadbike. I ended up spending another $250 on newer parts to fix it up and eventually converted it to a fixie.

When you buy a bike make sure everything still works and dont make the same mistakes i made.
