Lost car receipt

I bought a brand new 2013 civic 6 months ago and now I realize I've lost the original car purchase receipt. If someone had actually stole it can that person claim the car? sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm getting really paranoid.

Uhh yeah that's a pretty dumb question. A car is not like an iPhone where the original bill of sale is the only proof of ownership. Think about ICBC - you pay to insure your car (which is attached to the actual ownership records FYI). Your bill of sale that you lost is not legal ownership of a car, your ICBC registration is.

Haha, not only is it dumb but funny!

That's what street racers bet with when they go racing :troll:

Keep your car locked up at home and chain it down. :troll:

Not sure how you got the idea of someone taking possession over your car with a receipt.

This is what you need now

Oh shiz you lost your pink slip son?!

underscore 04-22-2014 08:41 AM

Have you never purchased a car before?

Richmond.....Hint Hint :troll:

If you're that worried about having all the documents for the car, the dealership I am sure will gladly print you or photocopy you another one. That being said, your ICBC registration is your proof of ownership. That is, if the car is insured under your name... :troll:

Yeah this is my first car purchase, and it's just bothersome that I can't find my receipt.

dat_steve 04-22-2014 03:12 PM

Not the same but still relevant.

Man how could you lose your original receipt... You might be fucked now, someone might claim the car is theirs and you will have to give it to them!!

Omg I lost my receipt from the restaurant yesterday. Can someone claim it's their meal and pay for me?

I like your style, burning the OP is worthwhile, but that joke doesn't make any sense.
