I think I know which one you are referring to. Seems like a simple solution (and nothing wrong with that) but I can't fit it into my Boxster unless I sacrifice a chair or something else. And setting it alone is going to suck ass.

The Type R hatch is great. I fit a spare set of wheels, all my tools, a floor jack, jack stands, and a jerry can with room to spare LOL.

Turns out I did a 1:19.86 at Mission last time. I managed to get a 2:04.55 today at Ridge. Still slow but feeling good - I hit 2:05.87 two sessions in a row.

Met SSM_DC5 and there was a LC500 on track.

Washed out video incoming. Any pointers would be appreciated [emoji2]. I know I shouldn't be waving thanks when I get a point by or cheering when I break my PB [emoji28]. I was stuck on 2:05.9 for like 2 sessions and got a little excited lol.

FWD is weird. Reverse stagger is also weird, but fun. I tried to take T6 faster before but it gets kinda sus cause I feel the rear end wanting to slide out.

Need to work on not death gripping the steering wheel. No major brake failures this time around and I didn't need to do cooldown laps either. That said I did start to feel the brakes fade and it did almost fade completely on me but I recognized it - this time around.

It's hard to tell for sure because of the video but I think there is opportunity for improvement for seating position which (in my humble opinion) is enabling you to do the death grip. If you move your seat closer towards the steering wheel or can pull it forward towards you, your elbows, shoulders, and wrist should be able to relax and your turns should be effortless.

It took me a few sessions to figure out my optimal seating position where death grip doesn't happen anymore.

We had a pretty awesome weekend away - Sat/Sun was the Maryhill Hillclimb in WA and then a Monday track day at ORP. I spent a bunch of time with my data from ORP before going back and looking at the G loads I was achieving versus what I was seeing at other tracks and it gave me a number of "targets" to focus on increasing speed through and it really paid dividends on lap time. ORP is a super fun track and well worth the (long) drive - CCW is my preferred direction.

First time driving a 992 Turbo at Ridge. This thing is insane fast on the straights. But in the turns you can really tell it's lacking compared to the gt3s.

Now that track day pics are out, incoming tons of pics from a bunch of RSers. I don't think I've seen that many RSer's in one gathering in recent times.

I yolo / impulse buy quite often. In this instance, it was to go to Overdrive x TSS Ridge Day on Oct 2. I accidentally met immortality in the morning without knowing he's immortality, because I thought he was the orange FiST LOL. Definitely lots of RSer's out that day. Bumped into Skunkworks too.

@MB, here's my I jinxed it writeup LOL. The track day didn't go too well for me. Everything overheated - tires, brake pads, brake fluid, car, driver, even the damn GoPro. I fixed the exposure issue thanks to the help of track chat, but now my RaceChrono doesn't record when I hit record. Here's a PB of the day of 2:04.57 with video. My actual PB of the day is 2:04.13, but no video, only shaving off 0.042 seconds.

I suspect most of my issues as attributed to running more worn equipment after putting some work into them on Sept 18. I found that with the now thinner pads and more worn tires, it did not equate to a very fun track experience, leading to overheating the brakes and an endless cycle of hell. I probably only did a combined lap total of 1 session in the afternoon LOL. In hindsight, I should have just bled the brakes with SRF again, but SRF is supposed to be to good for a few track days.

Once again, I found myself facing brake fade. I found that I was only able to do 3 hot laps in a 20 min (6-7 lap) session, before I'd have to back off. On Sept 18, I was able to get away with not doing any cool down laps and I had VSA on. However, I suppose with the hotter temps on Oct 18 (weird for PNW), it was tougher on the car. I had to turn off VSA in the afternoon, after I cooked the rear pads - a whole smoke show. Then in the next session, I proceeded to cook the front brakes. These EBC blanks have turned out to be not a good idea. More brake cooling is needed.

The following session after that, I went out and proceeded to get close to overheating the car. The water temps increased above half way. I got off the track immediately. Now I know that I should have just done cool down laps. At the time it didn't feel safe to do so, as my brakes were also very hot.

Am I right in thinking that worn out tires can contribute to poor braking performance? I'm thinking since it can't grip to stop as fast, the brakes have to work harder / I have to brake longer in order to make the same braking zone, thus overheating them. New tires are also needed for next season. I'd join the group buy for them now, but two ridge days back to back has made my credit card bill look less than optimal. I probably should have checked my statement before I signed up for Oct 23... yolo i guess.

Well kind of yolo. If Oct 23 happens, I'll bleed with SRF again and swap to my less than ideal but better than worn, 275f 235r setup. My 275f 255r setup is pretty much equal to wear bar and it's not taking heat very well.

Oh and before anyone asks, my GoPro did not record my spinout after T11 exit. I would have loved to review that footage though. I suspect I went too wide on the exit and instead of just climbing the curb, I hit gravel. After that was all just a blur. Thankfully, there was no one behind me in T11, as I spun 180 on the track surface and rolled straight into the dirt (on the left side). It was my first spinout on track and I'm hoping I don't have many more.

Sounds like a pretty crappy day.

Which tires were you running? And do you have a proper track alignment set up for The Ridge?

I am curious but what is your goal for track days?

Pretty much at wear bars, Hankook RS4 F: 275/35/18 and R: 255/35/18. I don't think alignment is entirely an issue. Of course, more camber will help, but I don't think not having enough camber was the problem that day. I have pretty much maxed out camber on the limited factory adjustments.

Goal of course, is to get sub 2 LOL. But mostly just improve and have fun with the car. Oct 2 wasn't fun. First session that I went out, the car felt "loose". I lowered tire temps too much. Second session out, the car felt greasy. It overall didn't feel as good as Sept 18 and that was disappointing. It is what it is tho.

Worn tires will definitely make braking worse, since it is the tires that determines how much grip your car has with the road surface. Thus if you are hitting your brake pads harder because the tires weren't gripping, you're more likely to overheat your brakes too.

I wasn't there on Oct 2 -- although I totally wished I were -- but I suspect that even though the day gets hot, the mornings are still quite chilly. So cold morning + cold tires = not much grip, so the car feeling "loose" is normal.

What pads are you running? I'm suspecting your fading issue is due to your pads/rotors/worn tires and not the fluid. Thinking if you address those, how the car runs should be better and you can focus more on driving instead of worrying about if your shit isn't gonna make it through the day.

I'm on Project Mu Club Racers on both front and rear. EBC blank front rotors are fairly new (installed shortly before Sept 18 ridge day).

I wasn't really concerned if it would make it though the day - I probably had 6 sets of spares with me. It was just frustrating that I could feel the braking performance decrease significantly after a few hot laps. That and the car didn't feel dialed in, yet it felt dialed in on the exact same set up two weeks prior.

Needs the center bearings of the supercharger replaced and it sounds like I'll have to send it away because I have no way of timing the drive gears to the rotors upon reassembly.
