Charge devices on your bike for under $5

Hello everyone,

Here is my how-to on making your bike capable of charging your devices for under $5 a.k.a Phones, GPS, i-Products. ect..

Here is what I started off with but as you can see I bought a Y-connector $2.99 (From Princess Auto) and if you already have connectors you are set. I went a little over kill because I thought I would have to solder and use shrink wrap but that was not the case.

Extra: Feel free to add a in-line fuse if you like to.

Bike:GZ250 and CBR600rr

This is my random shopping list, some random stuff I did not have on me so I had to purchase some new supplies for the garage. I would expect the bike lovers here to have some tools.

Here we go, SNIP!

Press my connectors.

All connected!

Slide it out a little bit so you don't drain your battery.

I was gonna hate, but that's pretty good. Did you think about running it through a fuse though?

I did think that when I was at Princess auto BUT, I thought "Hey if it's going to fail, the usb adapter is just going to fail." I would assume (Not sure actually) it has like a small fuse inside the adapter it self.

EDIT: A quick google search that some adapters do have fuses, no biggie !

EDIT2: No guarantees if there are fuses in the power adapter for GPS though.

I can appreciate the DIY aspect, I like doing things myself as well when I'm able. Saying that, I was going to buy one of these, it plugs right into the wires for the battery tender, I was thinking of having it come up near the front of my bike, get a RAM mount so I can plug my camera, phone or gps into it if desired.

im planning to do this on my r6 and instead of hooking it to the battery, gonna splice it with the taillights wires. So when I turn off the bike, it would turn off too.

I just run whatever cable I need to the tail of my seat, gps, camera and what not. All you need is a normal 6ft and hide them in the fairings. I never did a naked bike so sorry guys haha. :P

GREAT IDEAS FROM EVERYONE THOUGH, It definitely helps anyone else who is interested in cheap modifications like these.
