Computer not turning on

So it seems my PC have died. When I turn it on, it doesn't start up. I tested both Hard drive on my laptop and it works. The only reason I can think of is the CPU die on me? It was working fine. I try to unplug everything and then replug them but still doesn't work.

The PC is a pretty old computer (AMD that I got 5 years ago) so not sure if it is worth it to fix it (I think it could be a CPU issue or Motherboard.....) Any suggestions?

i always check PSU in these situations
if it's a standard sized PC locate a spare PSU and swap n' test

cpu should be fine, those things dont really go. Check PSU

Tested the both HD, PSU, video card and Ram on another computer and they all seem to work.......

Likely the mobo. Do a visual check and see if any of the capacitors leaked. I had a Soltek mobo die like that before.

I got a MSI MB but I mean the PC is around 8 years I did some upgrade here and there upgrade RAM, change the video card, SSD HD........ so must likely is time for a new computer.

check capacitors on the motherboard. they should be nice flat cylinders. if the tops are
round or bulged or look like juice is dripping out, your mobo is dead.

had 5 PC's at work that happened to all at once.

Agreed. The computer seems to be from that era of bad caps.

Don't wanna create a new thread, computer seems to be running much slower, and computer dies on me at times, and when I turn it back on, everything turns on, BIOS screen shows up, but everything after goes black, nothing happens. At times, the computer will boot up the the windows 8 "loading screen", only to be stuck there forever. Hard drive problem? or mobo?

Try a clean install of Windows.

Currently I have laptop hook up to the monitor, keyboard and mouse lol. Not liking the setup. Is making my desk look messy and no SSD for the laptop so load times is slow......

I might get an iMAC but they seem overprice......

Because they are.

Are you just surfing the web? Doing anything that requires Windows?

If Windows isn't required, just build a cheap linux box and call it a day.

nope just feel getting a Mac and see how well the OS runs and they do look sexy lol. Look into a few of the all in one machine and it seems Mac looks the best out of the bunch.

I'm gonna pick up a new cheapo 1tb hdd tmr, it's not my pc, my lil bros, not too much of a pro in tech, but what would happen to the OS? IIRC he purchased it online and installed it online from Vista, so there's no CD's or anything
