Oh shit!!! Teams of the top realtors have been trying to sell this monstrosity on and off for the past 10 years but you obviously know what NONE of them do... all they needed to do was hire an award winning home designer to stage it and it would fly off the market!

Think of all the weed you could grow in that place

Lowered_Klass 06-07-2014 06:49 PM

Paintball would be a fucking blast in this house.

However I don't think it's ignorant to call this house an abomination to anyone who knows anything about finishing etc. Look at that master it's got that huge feature on the ceiling then seemingly no crown, baseboard, built ins etc.

Abbotsford is a decent place to live.. Ya its not in the city really but buying a nice property thats close to the border, freeway it would be a perfect place to build a big ass home where you can have big parties and not have to worry of your neighbours complaining

Build tennis court, basketball court, mini golf or go cart would be so fun. No annoying neighbors and plenty of privacy. Could around naked inside and nobody would see.

I would never freely live in Abbotsford but if it meant I could live in this house I would change my mind instantly. Have a penthouse in Yaletown for summers and live in this Abbotsford for the winters. Ain't shit to do when its raining so just hire DJ's and have huge parties everyday when its raining.

To renovate the property to typical custom home standards would easily run 5-7.5 million.

The house is not an asset but rather a liability.

Manic! 06-08-2014 05:39 PM

So at what price do you think this will actually sell for?

Hondaracer 06-08-2014 08:24 PM

depends what the property itself is valued at i guess

Land value. Which, I can imagine, will still be a fairly large chunk of change.

Most people looking to drop this sort of change on a large house will want something complete (and good looking) or will simply tear down and start over. And for the latter, you want property elsewhere away from farms.

Thing is, who would go to a house party in Abby and often?

Its all relative to how you want to live. Some people want to be fleas piled up on a dogs ass and pay a premium for it and as such will make excuse after excuse for why its a better way or place to live. Is the house my cup of tea? No but is there potential for great investment value? Yes. If you can afford to sit on such a large investment and have the vision to do something constructive with it.

Aesthetics aside, it's unfortunate that someone spent a bunch of money on building that monstrosity, and yet now it has little/no value to prospective buyers.
