Msi Laptop performance decrease

MSI GT683
CPU: Intel Core i5-2410m 2.3GHz
Nvidia GTX 560M / 1.5GB GDDR5
6GB Ram

Just recently I have reinstalled windows 7 back on my laptop and all its original drivers. I have noticed a huge performance decrease. Playing games like Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark and Sniper Elite 3 and Counter Strike Global offensive. I get huge frame drops playing on the lowest settings. I am planning to remove dust from the laptop. Any other options?

May sound dumb but are you sure you installed the original drivers and update them?

after a fresh windows install i go to device mgr to see which driver needs updating with the ! sign.

Then I usually update the video card driver....make sure you get the latest on nvidia's website and not the ones on CD

Probably running off your integrated graphics.

sometimes the up-to-date video card drivers fuck things up. i usually stick to with what worked before.

Thanks. It turned out that my Nvidia control panel power management was not set to the graphics card. The funny thing is that last night i was able to play games smoothly no frame drops. And then today when i went to play csgo/sniper elite the frame drop started to occur again.

Yeah, it happens.

As long as the preferred graphics processor is set to your NVIDIA card by default it should be fine from now on. It's a very common issue on certain laptops.

If it still does it on certain games, just make sure you set a profile for it.
