Hot heat = not hungry

Is it just me?

The hotter it has been the past few days, the less I can eat. I've absolutely 0 appetite during the day. I could get by without a stomach growl from just eating a small bag of chips a day.

I'm drinking 10+ glasses of water a day so I'm not dehydrated...but I've got to force myself to eat and it's annoying. The more I force myself to eat, the less I want to eat of whatever it is that's infront of me.

This rate I'll be anorexic by September..

Anyone else get this or know ways to beefen up my metabolism during this heat wave we got going on right now?

BrRsn 07-14-2014 09:39 PM

420blazeit, nugs not drugs, etc.

stewie 07-14-2014 09:45 PM

Any non drug related ways to get my appetite up lol?

Gazorcoop 07-14-2014 09:48 PM

Try some cold fruits since it's so hot. Nectarines or watermelon hits the spot for me. Protein shakes with milk for your amino acids, and get some omega 3/6/9 supplements for oils if you really can't eat anything.

Drink lots of water and try to exercise at a gym with A/C to get appetite up.

spice

this is why those hot ass asian countries use spice. so that they actually build an appetite

true: How Spicy Foods Can Cool You Down On A Hot Day

eating spicy foods does help me scarf down a lot more carbs subsequently though. especially when the weather is hot and humid
ie ... it is so spicy you just want to get something in your mouth that does not contain spice-- to kind of flush it out. so that white bowl of rice infront of you would be devoured in no time

SkinnyPupp 07-16-2014 11:19 PM

Beware though, eating it late at night means you'll be sweating in bed

This is the same phenomenon that I experience as well. Possibly because your body isnt working as hard to generate the heat to metabolize.

GGnoRE 07-17-2014 06:20 PM

Try something sour to shock those taste buds

Do you always drink 10+ glasses of water a day?

When I want to cut (lose weight) I drink more water. It then makes you feel fuller, because you have something in your stomach.

Honestly, exercise is the only way (without drugs/supplements) to boost your metabolism. Just don't go outside for a run, ou'll end up getting heatstroke. Like said above, hit a gym with A/C.

Other then that, you just got to man up and force feed sometimes. I hate eating when it gets too hot, but I'll force feed myself because I know I'll need the energy to survive the day. :hat:

You might be drinking too much water and making yourself feel full, but I know I lose my appetite and feel gross if I try to eat when I'm hot. Drink a little less water and have a cool shower and see how you feel.

kross9 07-18-2014 06:05 PM

what this heat is making me eat like a fiend, when you drink the water is it ice cold or cool? that can make a huge difference too, the closer the water is to room temp the less your body has to work to heat that up

Cr33pUh 07-26-2014 09:59 PM

It's normal. Your metabolism helps produce heat so when it's hot, your body is warm. This means that there's really no need for your metabolism to increase it's work to produce heat.

But when the weather is cold, you tend to eat more or you're more hungry because your metabolism is "overworking".

Maybe eat smaller meals through the day. Also eating fruits and more greens seems better.
