Finally started watching this show. Got about halfway through season 1 today and will probably be all caught up within the next few days. The captain is probably my favorite character. Just the look of the guy is enough to crack me up.

I absolutely love Andy Sandberg but really don't like his character in this. Anyone else feel that way?

I kinda like his cocky asshole-ish behavior. He's the alpha douche

^ that, and I don't mind it because it usually leads to him saying or doing something stupid, which in turn leads to Captain Holt reaching into his gold mine of one liners and firing them off with his hilarious deadpan delivery.

Yeah i haven't really gotten into the show as much as i would like to. need to really sit down an watch a couple episodes.

Amy had it right. You weigh 6 v 6. take the lighter side weigh them 3 v 3. take two from the lighter side and weigh them. If they weigh the same the lightest guy is the one sitting out.

^ A few people on reddit have supposedly figured it out. I'm not too sure whether its the actual correct answer, but it kinda makes sense to me:

Figured it out before Amy did. Was surprised when hold said no. What I posted is the correct answer but there may be other ways of doing it.

The ideas on Reddit make sense but a few of them seem to ignore some possibilities.

That's what I came up with as well, but apparently the odd man out is either lighter or heavier?

I kinda feel like the stupid but obvious answer would just be to ask them all how much they weigh :lol

But you will know if he is lighter or heavier. If the 2 balance out then he is lighter if the they don't balance then the guy in the air is lighter.

But you don't know if the odd man out is lighter or heavier. If you weigh it 6 v 6, and take the lighter side, there is a chance that when you weigh the lighter side 3 v 3, it may balance if it turns out that the odd man out is actually heavier.

if the odd man out is in fact heavier, you now have to determine which man is heavier out of 6 possible men and you only get to use the see-saw balance one more time.

If we know which way the odd man out is different then you can do the 6v6, 3v3, 1v1 to get it, if we don't then the solution on reddit looks like the only option (I stared at the reddit solution for quite a while and it *appears* to be sound, however I don't have the time to fully test it.

They way they had the bird suit in Holt's scenes made me lose it every time. I don't know why lol

Otherwise the premiere was pretty meh by b99 standards imo.
