my subbie need lights

Hey peeps, could anyone here can on forum recommend me a reparable service in the lower main land. Or better yet if you're handy and willing to help me, with my lighting. I will provide pizza and ice cold beer of your choice.

Both of my head lights have gone out, and I need some work on them. I don't know or have to much detail with the HID kit it came with. ATM I'm running around with my fog lights.

Thanks, ( ;

Can you describe in depth what exactly the problem is, and what you've tried so far?

Bulbs dead?
Only high beams work?
Projectors?
What Subaru?

...Pics?

I could go on and on...

Subie

I'm not very mechanical incline myself. Although I've looked into the bulbs, and they seem fine, not burnt or anything unusual. High beam does not work either cause they were haywire to run on the 'high beam' and there not projectors. Just the generic HID kit (really not sure myself).

This is coming from 2002 buggeye TS wagon.

PS. Thank you for the replies I get here instead of subbie forum. <3

Go to Nmotion and get them to fix you up.

Without being able to tell us atleast some information on why your lights don't work, or what you have wired up under there, there is no way for someone to know until they look at the vehicle.

He has a aftermarket HID setup which means your ballast's have gone bad. Go to Nmotion to have it replaced. But legally you should have the standard bulbs installed into your car as the aftermarket HID's are illegal on your car.

illwdt 07-30-2014 08:38 PM

Thanks peeps! Will give Nmotion a call.

I bet they're some $50 ebay ballasts that are probably toast.

JesseBlue 07-30-2014 10:10 PM

I bet its just poor wiring... I would take on the offer but my wife would disown me and give me heck

first thing i would check if BOTH lights went out would be your fuses, then get another pair of ballast to test, then some HID bulbs... if all that dosnt work then yes, its gotta be your wiring, but seeing as the car isnt that old i would doubt its something like that

if those things you can easily check yourself dont work i would give a shop a call

If everyone followed lighting mvrs, nmotion would be out of business

if the HID kit was installed poorly, the wires could melt

BTW, what color is ur subie? n did u buy it used?

Yeah, but their are 2 ballasts, the chance of them both failing at the same time is very unlikely. That's what leads me to beleive it would be an issue with a fuse before anything. I don't know these Subarus all that well but but it's pretty hard to fck up plugging HIDs in

illwdt 07-31-2014 11:26 AM

Thanks for all the inputs.

Oh yeah, there two different ballasts, if that makes any different. On that note, the passenger side went out first then the driver side after couple of days.

I also believe it wasn't the best work done either but heck, if I knew I would run into this much trouble in the first place I won't bother with the HID kit, rather saved up more to purchase projectors (at that time it was easier getting HID kit done).

@TOPEC : White, subbie and bought it used. Checked the wires and they seem fine, cause they were tape like mommies.

Just an update. Lights are fix and not so haywired and properly running on good quality ballast.
