Bday Dinner @Whistler

What's a good restaurant to celebrate a milestone birthday up in Whistler? Looking for a restaurant that's more romantic. It will be the two of us. Don't mind spending around $100/head. Was considering Hy's, but I know it will not meet my expectations.

I've eaten at Quattro & Sidecut, both in hotels but good in my experience.

Quattro and Araxi for me. Been to both and I enjoyed the overall experience of both. Araxi had a very romantic atmosphere for me. Whatever you do just dont go to Bearfoot Bistro.

I would do Sidecut

Cool steakhouse with a bunch of different rubs

$100 a head should easily cover a meal there

Quattro was also very good. Pretty authentic Italian food. I think araxi has become "overplayed" and isn't as good as it was before. I vote rim rock and Quattro

why not add a little more money get a nice hotel room (or even a cabin) and make your own dinner? Much more romantic and you have your own space to do what you want? Not mention you can pick the wine you want to go with it.

Because most hotel rooms and cabins during the busy season in Whistler require a minimum of 2-3 nights stay. I'm only there overnight.

So where did you end up going? I would have voted Araxi and Quattro as well.

I made reservations for Rim Rock. Their menu was more appealing to me.

Bearfoot, Rim Rock and Araxi all good choices just different ambiance and menu.

Bearfoot is more old-school 'stuffy' high end dining with more traditional preparations. For me, I imagine dress shirt and trousers / British Properties.

Rim Rock is high quality, simply prepared but well executed dishes; a more casual dining experience. Imagine sweater and khakis / Kerrisdale.

Araxi is more modern in both menu and ambiance. Imagine nice jeans and dress shirt / Yaletown.

Rim Rock is great, enjoy!
