FML... Dropped my 9-month-old G2 on the pavement today. Cracked the screen. Still displays fine, but the digitizer is toast - zero touch input. All I can do with it is receive and make calls using my Bluetooth, and the Google Voice Dialer is about as brain-dead as they come. But hey, I got the extended warranty! For a $150 deductible I can get it replaced! Right? Well... except the stupid warranty people don't have a G2 and can't get them... but they'll be happy to send me an S4 as an "equivalent". Fuck that. I looked at both the S4 and the G2 and chose the G2. I love its exclusive features, especially the centered buttons and the pulldown notepad and the QuickRemote. I can send it in to get repaired but a screen repair is usually $250 or more... The lady from Telus Loyalty is supposed to be calling me back to let me know if they can cut me a deal on an early renewal and new phone... but they don't have any LGs except some cheap shitty flip phone. I could go S5 or HTC M8, but dammit, I LOVE MY G2! Hey.... anyone here have a G2 in good shape? Wanna trade it for a brand new S4? |
why not get the LG G3? HAHA I broke so many phones the past year is not even funny. That's why I got the iphone 5s with the 2year warrantly. It covers accidentialy and water damage and within that 2 years I can get it fix twice. Is only $99 so even if I just send the phone in for repair once is worth it. |

Now if someone wants to trade a G3 for a brand new S4, I'd be okay with that too. |
^^ wouldn't get the S4. Battery life for it wasn't good to begin with and since you are coming from a LG G2 you will find the battery on the S4 to be even worse (heck on a daily use I find the iphone 5s to last much much longer than the S4....) HTC M8 or S5 I would pick the S5 for the better camera and is smaller than the HTC M8. |
