I actually really like it, its quite refreshing and baby s class isn't something I mind.

Ronin 08-23-2014 07:02 PM

Front lip is weird.

And that screen looks like an afterthought. Like they designed the whole interior and then went "OH SHIT, we forgot the navigation..."

And I get that it gives you way more room down the middle but I hate using a wiper stalk to shift gears.

donjalapeno 08-23-2014 08:37 PM

^ nothing is a after thought with Mercedes Benz....

If I'm honest....Merc, Audi, BMW and Porsche don't give a fuck if people like the design and tech or not, They will do well in sales regardless..

Ronin 08-23-2014 08:52 PM

Its just stuck on there. Audi does it right with that shit popping out of the dash like a TV from the future.

donjalapeno 08-23-2014 09:03 PM

^ i know what you mean, but i feel like if you sit in the drivers seat and get comfortable with the car it will appear much more convenient and well placed.

HonestTea 08-24-2014 03:05 AM

Everything looks pretty good EXCEPT for the iPad sticking out..

badboy 08-24-2014 03:44 PM

I have a feeling that in a couple years a w205 refresh will get rid of the floating screen, like all car makers do.

Until then, like I said it's part of their new design language.

Looks almost like a larger CLA to me but I am biased.

And yup, another one goes to the ipad look, flame away =P

I hope that isn't a thick black bezel. Like WolfGang says, it looks horrible but when you're driving... it's placed quite well.

interior is definitely lacking, especially with the ipad looking screen

driving into shopping malls takes alot of power

I wish they would bring the A-class to canada....stupid emissions and safety regulations.

http://img2.zol.com.cn/product/117/517/ceTz4ScxCnpU.jpg

looks like a hoot to drive.

Akinari 09-01-2014 12:44 AM

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think it looks disastrously bad. The front end looks especially terrible with a bunch of random lines that don't have much cohesiveness with the rest of the vehicle. It doesn't look elegant, doesn't look particularly sporty, it just doesn't exude the class that Mercedes vehicles usually present.

But then again, the styling direction that Mercedes has taken with its past few redesigns has been...questionable...

I would of got the A45 if it were available here.

It's not emissions or safety, the CLA is the same damn car with a trunk bolted on the back. MB just thinks no one will buy the hatchback in North America.

yray 09-01-2014 09:17 AM

made in the states :fuckthatshit:

i was reading this article and looks like Mercedes can't sell some of its cars because our standards. Like the 4x4 sprinter vans, the A-Class etc

Mercedes-Benz urges Canada to use European standards - The Globe and Mail

Noreason 09-01-2014 07:01 PM

It's more like they're balking at the cost of standards testing and other modifications needed to make it compliant for Canadian/NA standards.

If they thought they could sell more than a few thousand cars and make lots of money, the A Class would already be in showrooms now.

They have a point though on some stuff like intelligent highlights. We only have low and high beams, nothing in between where as they already have a fluid intelligent headlight system where it auto adapts from low to high depending on where other cars are on the road.

Giving you maximum lighting without blinding other drivers, imagine that! Nope, not for North America!

ed99 09-02-2014 09:45 PM

Very nicely done. Front end looks just like the E Class and the rear very much like the new S Class. The C400 has the option for airmatic in which can be lowered in 2 height settings and can be raised with a touch of a button. Perfect if you want to lower your car.

vo_hantu 09-03-2014 07:38 AM

Starting to grow on me. I'd like to see the car a bit lowered with a different lip or something. Just looks awkward in some angles like previously mentioned. The rear is sexy!!

Tried to build one to the tits, got up to $65k!!

I really hope they bring the c63 wagons to north america.

VK79 09-26-2014 06:59 PM

Not digging the decals on the side (cheapens the car). Otherwise, edition 1 looks pretty sick.
