Networking/DD-WRT experts? Setup: Modem/Router ---wireless--- client bridge (LAN) ---wired--- (WAN) 2nd Router I have a WRT54G that has DD-WRT set up as client bridge. Client bridge as I understand connects wirelessly to the primary router. In general, there is little bandwidth loss on the client bridge. However, there's no wireless on the client bridge. I've connected a 2nd router to the client bridge. Wired connections on the 2nd router is giving me full bandwidth, but for some reason, my bandwidth is halved when connected wirelessly. Does anyone know why? |
If I have this right, you're setting up the second router as a repeater. When a router is set up as a wireless repeater the throughput is halved for each hop. |
^Actually, the 2nd router has only stock firmware, and it's set up as an access point, so I don't think it has any repeater function. |
