Just pick one. If you have a clever plate, it just tells people you spent more than a minute picking a license plate or you started a thread on the Internet about it...and they'll think you're a douche.

This means there should be plates that start with RX7 now, right? Anyone know how to request a specific series or whatever?

You can't. When the R series is released, you will have to call the brokers and hope one has it.

Is the release schedule for when the different series become available something they make public?

ICBC to introduce new license plates this summer - BC | Globalnews.ca <-- PUBLIC

*** i might have misread the OP, but no. The information is not released to prevent bias and they are received at random. Best bet is to call your local broker to see what they have.

You will have to keep track of the letters by observing the plates of cars on the road or call the brokers occasionally. There is no schedule, the plates are released in order. We probably won't see "R" until at least a couple more years.
