Random pet peeve: Calling desktop applications "apps". Sounds like pandering to the mobile computing market.

Man, Win8... I upgraded my less than year old laptop from Win7 to 8.1 for a month. Had to downgrade back to 7 after realizing half the drivers weren't compatible (HDMI, trackpad, soundcard, etc) and the programs I needed to use most often weren't supported, even via compatibility mode. Plus that stupid tile mode was frustrating to use on a non touch screen.

Hope Win10 gets this addressed by convincing other companies to support their own devices for the new OS.

failed so hard they can't make a 9 so the people of Microsoft were like "Hey guys lets be like really smart with the marketing. Lets skip a gen so people out there would be like WHOOAAAAAAAA it's the future!"

Windows 10 start menu takes up half the screen. Wow! That might be the dealbreaker for me.

i still vaguely remember windows 3.1...i learned how to type and played carmen sandiego at school
