Questions about pressure washer We are getting a pressure washer to wash our cars, and the kit comes with a bottle, so cleaning solution can be sprayed on top of the car The kit will come with the following http://i.imgur.com/N13a9HM.jpg I wonder if I still need sponge to rub the car anymore? please teach me a proper way to wash my car with it. Thanks. |
Those brushes :fuckthatshit: |
^ Those will never touch my car, I was told they are for rubbing floors and stuff. Really, how to avoid sponge rubbing? |
I don't know much about detailing cars either but I have a foam cannon I use to lather the soap and then I use my wool mitt to clean the car something like this http://www.amazon.com/Mothers-Genuin...ool-Wash-Mitt/ |
I think a pressure washer with a foam Cannon attachment works great at loosening dirt.I would never use brushes on my car's painted surface.(Brushes= scratches) Starting at the roof .Use a clean wash mitt to wash your car with.(I like to pre-soak my mitt to soften up the fibres in some warm water) Making sure to rinse the mitt after every panel you wash. After washing the panel,I like to use a claybar to remove anything stuck to the painted surface. This will give you a smooth clean surface for waxing etc. Then rinse, and repeat on your next panel. Here's a good example. Depending on your paints condition. You may consider applying opti coat or CQuartz coating on your painted surface.Which would make your job easier to wash your car with less effort. |
pressure washer can NOT completely get your car clean still need sponge or mitt |
Arh, the blower is what I need. |
just wondering if you got the pressure washer yet. i have a karcher that i bought at costco and it's broken on me for the 3rd time and i need to find something else :( 911fanatic (ken) recommended one that has the 2.0GPM that he says is essential but it's almost $1k usd :( |
I also purchased a electric (Simoniz 1700) pressure washer from Canadian tire.It lasted about 2-3 years before the plastic parts inside the handle cracked, and started leaking.Already checked with CT ,and they no longer the wand replacement for that model, but there was a different wand I could use.Bottom line by the time I replace wand attachments ..... I would've spent over 90 dollars.Over half the price I bought it for.Anyone interested in buying half a pressure washer off me? If your purely just using it to wash your car with a Gilmore gun. |
I was considering the Ryobi 3100 psi but for $499 cdn. The pump unit from what I've read is almost 50/50 in my books.Complains about warranty stuck out like a sore thumb. BE Power Washer | Pressure Washer, 3100 PSI, 7HP Powerease , Gas, Horizontal, With Low Oil Alert | Home Depot Canada Built in Canada for $299 |
Skip the Ryobi and the electric pressure washers - money down the drain. I have one similar to that Home Depot link and it has been a great unit for the last three years. It gets used a lot and it fires every time and though mine is only rated at 2600psi, it is more than enough - especially for a car. |
use air compressor as blower :derp: |
