Help unlocking an iphone
 

i'm living in australia right now and want to get my rogers iphone 4 unlocked....they will do it for $50 but trying to find a cheap/free alternative

also my friend here bought a phone off the local version of craiglist and was told it was unlocked but it's infact from italy and locked to a carrier there(confirmed by the apple store)....how can they get that unlocked
